  1. I have decided to sell my grinder, it's all complete and in running order with the rayco trailer. However the paint work is quite rough,am I better of to sell it as it is or have it painted and replace the decals, do you think i would cover the costs involved?
  2. I have had dual mass flywheels replaced on my transit and landrover, the transit did 130000 miles after fitting towing a 2.5 tonne digger with no problems previous to this I was replacing starter motors and fly wheels regularly. The landrover was done last week it's more noisy in neutral now but the flywheel can't wear out
  3. Only if it has fluffy dice in the windscreen otherwise final warning
  4. Yes any shot must stay within the boundary of the property over which you have permission to shoot put yourself in the neighbours position would you want shot raining down on your land , could lead to allsorts of legal problems.
  5. Had one on demo in June only in 240 volts so aimed at DIY difficult to use on site.
  6. If you still need help give me a call in and around east London very regular would be no problem Andy 07831 122522
  7. I would not use excavator buckets are too small try tracked loading shovel or large wheeled use chain trencher to trim the roots on either side if possible also cut into sections we used 50mm steel sheet to under cut the root plates also consider heavy thinning of the top Place into prepared trench with irrigation we used porous pipe either side . We moved 220 m for MOD with 85% success
  8. Sand was a non compacting sand single size grains straight onto soil laid by hand following decompaction
  9. We placed system down for root protection in a car park, light use cells were 200mm deep with 100 mm sand beneath
  10. Free to licenced tip if you haul with no help required to unload
  11. Seven hundred hours chipping trees on a island that resembles arctic waste ! Most definately scam
  12. Paslode Im 350, fragile, expensive to buy, expensive to run, only got half a head on the nail Stanley bostich far superior cheaper to buy nails half price or less works in the cold, mud and in the rain excellent parts back up just needs oiling unlike paslode which needs taking apart to clean each week. Air is quicker, lighter and more powerful also true 100mm nail
  13. This is also interesting Rebuilds and the law - by Glencoyne 4x4 (Thetford)
  14. If landrover build the vehicle no problem as they hold type approval for the vehicle
  15. Try this site and note the points system [ARCHIVED CONTENT] Registering a radically altered vehicle : Directgov - Motoring Sent from my iPad
  16. But you made a vehicle that exists landrover 130 come out of the factory at Solihull the type specifications exist the 140 is not made at Solihull the chassis has been stretched so is not covered by type approval so would need a SVA and probably a Q plate. These problems are academic until the vehicle has an accident then the fun starts
  17. I agree however this vehicle is a 140 landrover do not make a 140 therefore a modified vehicle same problem occurs when fitting a 130 chassis to a landrover 110
  18. If the chassis is changed from one manufactured by landrover it needs a Q plate
  19. Landrover didn't make a 140 modified by seller might need q plate and vosa inspection insurance could be interesting
  20. We have had this problem before contacted natural England re checking for nests. in the opinion of our local officer we had to show that we had made our best effort to look for nests this involved staking out the trees and observing the comings and goings of any birds along with a binocular survey and finally climbing each tree and most importantly recording the results
  21. I have a paslode not been used for two years found that it was unreliable expensive to use didn't like cold weather, bought Stanley bostich air nailer full head faster, far more powerful, much cheaper to use and works underwater. It fires up to 150mm nails and works each time it comes out of the box.
  22. In my option no but with a blank template a risk assessment and method statement should only take a few minutes as most of the risks stay the same from site to site as would the method statement .ppe is what separates us from the cowboys . everybody on site has a duty of care to each other so 5 to 10 minutes at the beginning of the day I feel is worthwhile get everyone on site to sign that they understand and have received the assessment and statement it takes a bit of time to begin with then when you have built up templates for the jobs you do all you have to do is change the name of the site and the date then your covered you can't be to careful with today's no win no fee lawyers
  23. Any one know of a tip site have some leylandi to remove looking to tip 20-30m3
  24. We use chips as a road for 40 tonne dumpers no problems even when very wet construction needs to be good quality, box cut to hard formation level, constuct fall to shed water, terram membrane place hardcore or oversize compost arisings top with wood chip not tree chippings
  25. Just finished moving Acer palmatum about eight feet tall, I used Avant loader to lift rootball into 300 litre pot trimmed roots to fit pot reduced crown 10-15% wrapped trunks with wet coffee sacks and kept crown misted with sprayer to reduce desiccation taken from Hastings to West London in a covered trailer with stop to keep damp have not planted yet but has not lost any leaves placed in shaded area in new garden with automatic watering to crown and pot client now has to make up her mind where to plant!
