  5. We tried to shear 450 square greenheart but couldn’t just ran out off power 1/3 to1/2 way through like the grapple head idea, I think it would work especially if the feed is slowed right down
  6. These piles can be 4m into the river bed a 9 tonne winch isn’t going to be much good, we used a 100 tonne crane and a vib clamp last time and it struggled if the river is navigable the whole pile has to be removed or you pay to have it marked on the maps you can just cut then off
  7. Have you cut greenheart with a tree shear? It makes oak look like balsa
  8. Look at a tb 219 rather than 216/016 more reach usually well looked after
  9. You have tried to speak to someone with a brain rather than the office idiot? try NFU, I have never had problems but they are not cheap
  10. Offset ? Sloping ground , I would rear mount a topper less power required than a flail more stable in working position could add width to the wheelbase
  11. They will need to be vibrated out clamp top vib and pull it’s a time consuming and expensive job, I don’t think a shear will have anywhere near the power or operator control required ,your barge will be moving we tried to shear some that we pulled out of the Thames and failed if not diver and saw will not be slow, suck out round the pile so they can kneel or stand, then cut.they made us wear chainsaw trousers last time till we proved they gave no cut protection from the saw
  12. More like 6 pence, half a crown!
  13. I work for a client they categorically state no huawei phones on site and prefer us to use other brands
  14. I forgot they are a bitch to tow if they get stuck
  15. Nice if the ground is dry awful in the mud without tracks, avant or multione will out lift and outmanoeuvre
  16. Bit of plate, old crow bar, couple of rods and your done less than a fiver !
  17. You got to send it to spud
  18. It also works the other way you can gain
  19. Better to put the weight in the chassis or wheels
  20. Makes for a unbalanced machine when no load is on also wears out the centre pivot very quickly
  21. To work for highways England as I do you will have to comply with all of the regulations that apply to civil construction as well as forestry and tree surgery, until they need you more than you need them then it goes out the window have a off the record chat before jumpin in
  22. Are you doing it for the timber or going to charge, I would try to find local contact and have a chat first, the paper work will be interesting you will also need a highways card on top of your cscs, cpcs, forestry tickets, chainsaw tickets, site management ticket, first aid ticket . Traffic management ticket, main contractor insurance and card this is before you sub any work out to subbies with most of the above. Will it be worth the hassle? the highway card is two days training for EVERYONE who enters the site
  23. You should also look at a mini loader will lift and shift pull a trailer bucket for muck hydraulic power for splitter avant multione or similar lighter on its feet than telehandler out lifts telehandler weight for weight will hold its value parts and fixing fairly simple
  24. You don’t saw in the dark it’s still light at 3.30.pm or are you only going to cut first thing in the morning to allow The emergency services to find you during daylight realisticaly why are you cutting this remote you can’t extract timber if it’s for logs try a decent handsaw you will be warm twice that’s good for the environment
  25. Smoke anit no good in the dark if you made the call at 3.30pm it would be dark by the time they get to you or not!!
