  2. I have sadzzz that you are still not SRT.
  3. So what retrievable redis do you guys use? ?? I was up a silver maple on friday and needed one! Where were you guys?? ;
  4. Deadwooding a big silver maple in Brooklyn today, climb the last lead and was presented with this view of the Statue of Liberty, Manhattan was to the right. Nicest photo of my career so far!
  5. Yeh Gord is a good guy. He did heliloggers films.
  6. Lawrence Shultz, Bix, atreestory
  7. Ive had two Shembiners fall off my harness lost forever. I am awaiting the DMM!!!!I hate having anything made by Petzl.
  8. Dave, It def been cut back hard in the past then reduced again.... Some big old holes in some of the limbs and some hollows too, one which I was tied into, I was lad to get out of this one. Not yet cut up that huge bit yet Paul, not sure how were gonna do it TBH, theres an old treehouse in it, as well as years of dirt and crap, bolts, and naile. Our machine is dwarfed by the beast LOL. Bolam, I love you
  9. This was day 2 for this tree, 5 hours climbing yesterday in the pouring rain made for some slippy moves, but I was ready to fall this by 1130 today. Thats the biggest chunk of wood ive seen on a tree, 5 big leaders sprouted off it. The only damage was top of one fence panel, which I stuck back on with glue and no one knows
  10. My crew has the double thick hoodies, great hoody, hood big enough to go over helmet, and they are warm when its cold Wore mine in the p155ng rain all day today and they do get heavy when wet.
  11. Slings, cradles, pffft, find the balance point..... (The ropeman should have been standing in a different spot for this rig, but hey all good.) [ame] [/ame]
  12. Turning up to a job, and my apprentice/now second climber wanting to tackle the b1tch of a tree, and doing so in exactly the way I would do it. And completing a horrible big takedown, felling the trunk with inches to spare, and the client giving each of us a nice tip and thanks at the end.
  13. Nice! How come you were hanging multiple limbs at the same time?
  14. Thanks for the reply. You know I only do urban work.
  15. Multi Purpose Trolley :confused1:
  16. 1 Q. Why make all those extra cuts, when you could just cut a foot higher saving time?
  17. Im a twonk and lazy and just cut at a height which is most comfortable, then cut the butt. I also cut bog gobs all of the time now with great success. Whole tree, sticks, rigging timber. Not only does it undermine the COG, making it easier to push off the hinge, I find a hinge at the fattest part of the tree is more reliable. Why do you make your gobs so small, please do tell..
  18. Rereading the thread from the start sees alot of members who dont come on anymore. Full circle
  19. Stone dead spruce. I like a big gob.
  20. Another point I will make is undermine the centre of gravity , while working out the length of log to cut that will land flat. I hate seeing fire wood being cut up the tree. Waste of time. If you're worried about damage, rig big. Also on cutting limbs on a tree like that, you can do a straight cut into the top oif the limb, into the trunk, have the limb hold on, then finish the cut for direction. August does that alot on his work Keep on keeping on
  21. Mate. WTF really?? Take a break, go to a health farm and relax. Change your diet.. 33 is not the age to be retiring. Theres guys here on Long Island that are 60 and still climbing like 30 year olds, I dont know how they do it! Maybe $$$ signs in their eyes. I'm 38 now, been climbing 14 years.. and I just feel a bit fat at the moment. Only because of the enjoyment of summer and beer! Go on holiday. Take two weeks relaxation. Massages! Abused bodies need looking after. What the hell else you gonna do that provides the same Adrenalin/accomplishment feeling everyday? Drive a rally car? Nah. You got 20 more years yet. Peace
  22. Mine lasted 4 years, hot in summer and not bad in winter... got Airstreams now and im not rating them, bloody cold in winter!
  23. Try a hurricane, Sandy in 2012 was sure freaky.
  24. $6.95 I use these...
  25. Yeh I agree... only suitable on the west coast really. But I was trying to give you ideas and solutions. I just have tape slings and quick connectors for whenever I do ziplining. Keep it simple.
