  1. Stick with the steroids if they want you to take them mate,it is mostly water retention,& drinking good clean water is a great help to your organs right now. If you get a bit of weight on due to the meds, just relax in the knowledge that you can loose it again when the time is right. I had a couple of years of the pred anti inflamatery steroids,( for a different ilness),& found myself at about 15 stone from my normal 13.5,I lost it quite fast once I could take some excercise,& back to normal weight in a matter of months.
  2. Hi there Adam, yes its a great trade to be in,keeps you out of the humdrum mundane type of work,It's tough trying to keep your job sheets full & profitable in the climate we are in,no dig at you at all,but you need to know that there are a lot of people getting trained up for the job in a tough financial environment,if you have a family to provide for look long & hard before commiting to any one trade. If you go for it,get some work with a decent tree firm & work your socks off, learning all the time,(you will know how to do that already)! I wish you well in your choices & pending future,& as the others have said,a big thanks for your service to this country & to those you have helped in others.

    Milk it

The only people earning a reasonable profit out of milk are the supermarkets, the very people who have control over the price,no surprises there then! People can slate the farmers as they do,but the fact is they are loosing money in the milk game.

    Bank of Dave

Be interesting to see how it works out, give him credit (no pun intended),he had an idea & the conkers to give it a spin,I hope it works out well.
  5. A big ask for a generous arb,& in kent,well.... Seriously,I'm sure one of the kentish sector of our fraternity will prove me wrong & help out.
  6. Have a good one mate!
  7. Not noticed any changes in aspen, its all I use,but everything runs the same as it ever did, mind you by the time I get me grubby mitts on it from up the road from me it could well be old stock Knowing them. Hope you get on top of this double quick.
  8. That is an outstanding carving, superb work indeed.:thumbup1:
  9. Funny pic Predator, that mutt will follow you anywhere!
  10. As all the above, try & get a good nights sleep,& take a bar of choccy,& maybe some fruit & a drink so you can snack & rehydrate,no point in being uncomfortable with thirst or hunger, enjoy the day!
  11. Great to hear from you mate, sounds like things are moving forward for you even if it doesn't feel that way. Hope it all works out for you with open mind, stay in touch mate.
  12. Trust you mate, thats one of the great things about you,i'm too clean minded to spot the smutt potential in some things, but relly on you to point things out for a laf.

  14. that cheered me right up,know what you mean too!
  15. Blimey mate, thats not a good way of asking for an explanation of another post especially from someone good at doing things,,accidents happen in this industry,& by the grace of luck its not you got hurt.
  16. Thats spot on,well put.
  17. Ten shots for two targets...waste of powder, just get some 9ball pig shot in a side by side! I did get some help setting up my little show,I had it running for a couple of years off my own back & some money was passed down,so I stuck it into more kit.Not into all that bling on my harness though,I just settled on chrome plating my spikes & silver tags on the end of my boot laces.
  18. You will get some who express their distaste at your work, thats going to happen anywhere & unless its reasoned it is to be taken with a pinch of salt, thats the down side of having the 'temerity' to show ideas in an effort generate good discussion. I myself on occasion use an angled hinge & find it effective on side leaners & in a situation where wind can be a factor.
  19. I want a grey one in large, where do I order? Must be me,I cant find where to sort it!

    Ms460 ?

The 460 is a very nice saw, loads of mid range grunt too,but the standard air filter lets fine dust through, can be upgraded.
  21. NICE TARGET!! (Jesting )
  22. Good post, learn at your own speed, push yourself but dont let others pressure you. All the 'man up' stuff is all very funny, but it wont help you if you bash your confidence or get hurt,it does happen.
  23. What fun!
  24. Nice form there Mark, great stuff,& when you get yourself up & running with your own lathe, give me a shout as I would love a look,& will give you some wood in exchange for a peep at it!
