  4. Hi All I am available to work on Sat 5th if anyone needs a Groundy .I have CS30/31 and CSCS card my own saws and PPE. I am happy feeding a chipper all day I am usto using a chipper stump grinder .and doing a variety of clearance work happy doing what ever is needed . I enjoy this type of work and work really hard at it . I live in Somerset with my own transport I am happy to travel a good old way out if needed . PM me if anyone need me for the day . Thanks Littletree:thumbup:
  5. HI there for years before I had a car and learned to drive I usto travel up and down the country on a scooter sometimes several hundered miles at a time when I wanted to go away for the weekend . I found it much cheaper then a car as did not have much money so was a great next option up from my push bike . In all weathers I us-to kit up in the small hours to travel sometimes 50/60 miles to work .OK in the lashing rain not so nice but most of the time a pleasure to ride .the best bit is never being stuck in a traffic jam again just passing all those cars that are not moving anywhere lv it . A 125bike /scooter would really help you as you can get on the road with a day CBT course and L plates it will last for up to 2 years before having to do your test . then if you still have not done a test then you just do another CBT and off you ride again into the sunset . The Tax is around 15 quid a year and insurance around 90 with Bennett's . you will be able to fit all your climbing kit on and a saw in a rucksack on the back tied on with bungees . Its well well worth looking into as you will then never have to worry about buses and trains again and know you can get the shed where ever it is . If you have any questions feel free to give me a ring or pm . Thanks Littletree.
  6. Will do I will keep you posted as to how my first week goes Littletree:thumbup:
  7. Hi Tommer I have brought a saw off them before so they were able to send it to me . If you are a first time buyer of a Stihl chainsaw with a dealer then you would need to collect it in person from them for the first one then after that they can deliver them out to you . Even if you have not had a one before still ring round a get the different prices from all the usual dealers as if you are going to your local dealer in person then you can ask them to price match with the other dealer there is a high chance they will price match or go close to it. All the best Littletree:biggrin:

  14. Hi Guys An update. I did my first trial day on the tree planting job .I worked with a couple of other lads they were just great to work with . it was really good fun the trees were thin but very long with a fair size base so we could only fit a few a time on the truck . we had to dig the holes then put in the large wood poles to support the tree. I then had to use a large iron thing with handles to get the stakes in I had to put it over the top of the pole and then lift it and bring it down and then keep going till the stake was at the right level .then i had to fix them to the stakes and then put a cage round them nice little job . It was Great fun and am now sorted until April with regular work so am really very pleased with my self . Littetree:thumbup:

  17. Army gortex is the way to go . I got jacket and legs for 30 quid and have never looked back its dry all the way home . I was working out all day in that rain on Sat I had the legs over my chiansaw trousers . my chainsaw trousers styed compleatly dry other then I usual heat/water on the inside from working hard . The top I dont mind getting soaked as find I sturggle to keep the jacket on as I just get so hot when working . Littletree:biggrin:

  22. There is lots of opportunities to be used at level one .Some of my friends are at level one and they are making 120 a day she swaped working for 5.80 an hour job in a shop for £120 a day . The higher up the levels the more opportunities you have I think its 1000 hours for level to level 2 . I am doing mine a bit later so that I can have more scope as to what I can do as you can be used by more company's even for the simple jobs . The Course costs £670 it can be done over in Cardiff Littletree:thumbup:
  23. Anyone in this game can see its not a real Stihl saw but there sadly a lot of people that could be taken in by it . the regular home owners and jo blogs that think they are on to getting a good deal for there bits of wood in the garden . I would never buy a saw on Ebay or anything expensive I do use ebay all the time for chains and other bits and not had any big problems but for saws its dealer only for me that way I know what I am getting and also get the full back up with it too. lets hope they get found out . Littletree
