  1. I have been making up the right Stihl 2 stroke oil amount 100ml to 5lt unleaded as it says on the can to do so . My 361 seems allways seems to be rather smoky and the spark plug is black . It seems to be running rich on the standard mix . Has anyone else had this problem with the 361 ? what amount mix would you recomend ? The sam mix in my 211 works just fine and no problems with smoke Any tips would be really helfull Thanks Eastwater
  2. Hi Yes I run a 361 and I find the same thing . If I dont use the Stihl chain Oil then I find it does not oil well it get very dry . Other brands of Oil seem thicker then Stihl Oil and dont flow though well. so now I just Stick to Stihl oil even though its more expensive the chain runs better and does not over heat giving me better overall cutting performance . 3. So far the joints are good no ill effects but I do keep very fit and train with weights .I think this really helped with the upper body side of it as you have to pull in the pole as you get closer to the top as the pole gets thiner and thiner. Eastwater:001_smile:
  4. Hi there the team that were there kindly lent me the kit to do it and set me all up . The lads that compeat get there times down around the 9 second mark . For us Girls my time was not bad at 24 seconds for my first few climbs in I think the fastist girl that compeats is around the 16 second mark so I have some catching up to for next year, there are not many girls that do it over here for me I am now hooked on it from here on .

  8. Hi Nasher best way forward is to defiantly keep your Paramedic job as this is the job thats going to pay the bills and your job is of great value to society. The best thing to do if you want to go into get into Arb and operate a chainsaw is to begin with take it up as a hobby do some volunteering for your local wildlife trusts to gain exp and gain your chainsaw tickets this over time will open you up to more opportunities as go you on . Eastwater:biggrin:
  9. I really hope you get well very soon, thats so bad . Good on you for having a go I Hope they get caught and strung up in the process. All the best Eastwater

  11. Thanks I will give them a ring too. as with the other qote no tool cover .
  12. Hi I gave Barry grainger a ring and they were very helpful I got a couple of quotes the first was for 1 million was 208 per year no hight restriction on the hight of tree coming down but no climbing over 5m . then they gave me a quote for 500m this came to over 300 with the same conditions . This rises when you need to add in the rope access part . At the moment I don't need insurance for the rope access part as at this stage feet only on the ground . Now the choice is between 1 & 5 million ?. What do you think ? for me it will be for small jobs gardening strimming and some low level work with the saws Clarence ect . Thanks eastwater:biggrin:
  13. Thanks for replies, Barry Graniger sounds good value for money I will give them a ring Thanks Eastwater:001_smile:
  14. I am at the stage of sniffing out quotes for PL insurance . There seems not many company's that will cover chainsaw use . I know NFU do but they can be pricey. I have been on the comparison websites and still wading through . What insurance company's do you use ? How much do you pay for sole trader no other employees, use of a chainsaw on the ground and tool cover per year ? found one company MMA that cover gardening and use of a saw but with a 5m hight restriction also included tool cover of 2.500 for 425 per year . Any suggestions please thanks Eastwater:001_smile:
  15. Forestry does it for me so far , humping saws kit fule and PPE up hills over brash stingers and long stuff . it certainly works up a sweat like nothing else .
