  1. HI there many thanks for reply . I have just rang the Tax office and had a chat with a really nice guy that explained it all to me . You are dead right I don't need to be registered at this point unless there is construction work going on within the site so for regular homes and garden tree work and clearance tree work no Cis reg is needed . Its looked at on a job to job basis depending on whats going on the individual site . If say trees were needed to be takend down and then the builders come to demolish the house stright after then CIS would apply as it then falls into the construction site bracket . Should anyone need to reg it only takes a cople of mins you have to explain the job and then they decided weather you need to be reg or not . In my case I explained the type of work and they said not at this point it was not needed . . If you do then the employer also has to be Cis reg and will deduct 20 % tax from your invoice they need to provide evidence of there status for your deduction .. Once reg it does not apply to every job you do as its only jobs that fall under the Cis scheme ie construction sites and work taking place on them . Littletree
  2. I am self employed sole trader doing sub work just in Arb . One of the places I have done some work for was talking to me about being or look at registering CIS . I was not on a building site just the usual sub work How many of you doing sub contract work in Arb are CIS reg ? Is this something I have to worry about ?? as I am just happy being self employed sole trader and doing my own tax . Thanks Littletree:001_smile:
  3. I feel the young straight out of collage will find it very hard when they enter the workforce they are not repaired for the reality of the psychical work involved itself . The work is hard , you Sweet blood and tears to do it you also need to be fit and determined and really really want to do it .you have to be repaired to get dirty wet work in the poring rain and when its hot and when its cold you have to keep going hour after hour with a smile on your face . Many of the young straight out of collage entering the work force sadly will give up within a short time when they realize whats involved . Littletree

  7. Still smiling loving every minute of it . The first week in this game either makes you or brakes you . Most last a couple of days and are gone . The first 2 days are the hardiest as when you are new in ,you don't know what to expect plus you have to really prove yourself as on team you all have to pull the same workload you cannot have one that not pulling the same as the others if you no good you will know very quickly about it and its game Over . .After the first 2 days if you are still in it then gets much better as you then you understand how the day unfolds and learn how the lads operate the pace you have to work at ,when you stop ,go eat ,drink, take the chippings away etc. You very quickly become accepted into the team if you work hard . In a week I learned so much its a whole new ball game in Clarence work . Looking forward to week 2 . I went out and got some thick long gauntlet gloves so the thorns wont stand a chance of getting one up on me this week . Littletree:thumbup:
  8. Hi all just an update . I have just done my first week in my new job . I have had a wonderfully week . I have been working on the motorway doing Clarence we have been for most of the week on a long stretch of thick bramble and blackthorn .I have been working on a 3 person team . 2 chaps and myself 1 lass . 16. I Got to the bottom of the problem with my 211 today when it started playing up again . The housing where the muffler its sits had come loose . I tightened it all up again and have done this before several times in the past and each time it would come loose again very quickly but today it would not tighten up at all so now its looking rather sorry for its self sitting on the kitchen floor.
