Hi all well my new Husky 372XP went on its fist outing today with its 24 bar . I had to take down a big old llandi and a larch tree. Wow that saw just ate through this big fat trunk it had no problme and it enjoyed cutting all the trunk into rings it made it easy . I made an excellent choice of saw its powerfull full of life on the trigger even with a 24 bar and its not as heavy as the 90 so am delighted with it . really nice bit of kit . Littletree:thumbup:

I dont think I would want to drown either it might look peacfull to the person doing the diry dead but much fun for the animal or person on the reciving end . If you have have you ever taken a huge gulp of water by accident when swimming or been unable to get your head out of water when you have needed to the feelings in your lungs is a burning sensation and then despration / then panic as the burning gets worse its actually death by suffication as very little water actually can go down into the lungs even if you are under water unless you have been knocked unconsious first before entering the water then it is a wet drowning and the lungs would then fill up as the reflex action that stops liquid entering the lungs is surpressed if you are unconsious before entering water. I Think the kindist way is to put animals to sleep but of course this is diffucult on a mass scale or when animals enter the food chain. Littletree.

Hi there As an operator I have used both theses machines and used a range of other chippers . For Me the Timberwolf wins the day hands down . I realy love using Timberwolfs they just seem to be much nicer to use, the other machins really wip the brash as you feed it . The Timberwolfs are just so much nicer to operate I find they are much more gentle on the operator when feeding it. I also like the control panal on the TW its very clear what does what and for me being only 5-3 tall I find the TWs are at a good hight If you look after your timberwolf it will serve you well also if you decided to sell it later then it will keep its value better. All the best Littletree:thumbup:

Its a pleaure . its really hard when you are fisrt starting out in this game just costs so much I worked with Jake the other day he is a nice lad and he did a good job more then happy to help him in any way I can . if you ever need a hand up there with your logs I think he would love to hear from you . Thanks Littletree:thumbup:

Hi Jake I have some cat c chaps they are in very good nick other then one of the zips is a little doggy I will sow up the bottms of them so the zips wont move so all you will have to do is step in them instead are zips are allways a problem on chainsaw trousers and the next time I am in next I will leave them with the boss for you and you can have them for free. It was nice working with you the other day All the best Littletree

Thanks for replies I can see others have these problems too. I have gone for the whole hog and fixed these muff for good . I went for No More Nails and put a good does of it in before doing up the bolt then on the outside i have put gaffa tape so the bolt cannot unscrew and has no were to run if it were to com off . I have now put extra padding in the front part of the cradle I used cut up carry matt and covered it with gaffa tape so the helmet does not slip anymore for the gogles not sure what I am going to replace it with as the standard visors do let the bits in and I dont enjoy the grill across my face all the time . I will let you know how it goes with my tender loving care and very strong cement. Littletree:thumbup:

I am just about to take mine off as its just adding stuff to the helmet thats not in use they very hard to keep clean allways smeared what ever you do the more you try to clean it the worse it gets unless you have clean cloths and a tap . I have tried differnt gogles visors to keep the stuff out of you eyes . its dificult the standard plastic visors let the sawdust and fine bits through and the clear plastic stop the suff gettin in but become smeared and unusable very quickly . i did like the buzz eyes so far the have proved the best yet. one gets usto the little mesh in front of you face within a cuple of mins but the mesh makes your environment look a little dark . Its a difficult one and I think most people have this problme and tried all sorts of gogles visors glasses to try and keep out the bits in our demanding job. All the best Littletree:thumbup:

Hi there glad to help . I do like mine I opted for the clear pull down visor gogle type but I must say they I dont find them very good as they dont stay clear for very long it smears very very easily its hard to keep clean and if it rains again you cannot use it at all as you just cannot see through it . When I first got my helmet it fitted perfect and did not slip around but now after some time the cradle has stretched and now it slips about . my head was small so it fitted fine on the smallist setting but now its stretched i cannot go any tighter so am going to put some padding in to make it smaller again. Overall I do love the helmet but i might change the gogles for somehting else hope this helps Littletree:thumbup:

I have a nice stein helmet but seem to be having problems with the ear muffs comming off and the bolt that holds it all together then gets lost in the process it has happened twice this week . anyone else had or having the same problems with theres ?. lucky justin had another bollt he kindly sent me the fist time then this time I had an old helmet with a similar speck ear muff so I was able to get the bolt off that . I think I have found a solution to the bolt comming off I have fixed it in wth (No more nails) so hoping that this is the last time the muffs and bolt comming off and it will stay fixed for good . O they definatley did sway around with me on them I did have to think carefully as i new it was a long way down to the bottom should they snap out . . but being a light girl climber does sometimes have some good advantages over the the heavier lads I can go where others cannot . Littletree

it was fun . I had to shin up to the tops of them legs rapped round the stick cut then slide down again same for each one in the middle . the outter ones took some doing I had to grab a couple of sticks pull my self over and just go for it . lucky I am very light so can get away with a little a bit more . I worked really hard to get a nice shape as I wont let up till its spot on how ever long it takes littletree:thumbup:

O yes I will do I am looking forward to seeing next years leaves come on it I am hoping with the nice shape and all the dead wood gone it will be really beautifull for them o how I love Ash trees . Littletree:thumbup:

Hi I loved climbing it It was nice and slim it was a plesure to do . I did 2 more today ,bigger ones they had been heverly polarded some years ago and had grown up and up these today was quite a challange as they had grown very tall and the customer did not them compleatly re polarded that would of been easy to do but they wanted them just reduced and deadwooed some of the sticks took some interesting climbing to get to the ends . O how i love it Littletree:thumbup:
-
Hi there thanks for reply yep i had to take off about 5 feet all round then I had to do a dead wood . The leaves were nearly off but that had them away . it was a really nice little job I enjoyed it . Woke up at 4am and could not get back off to sleep so decided to go Arbtalking instead . Thanks Littletree:thumbup:

Thats really sad news ,its a big problem today it seems no lock even the better ones can prevent them from braking in . its really hard when you have a company and have to store all the kit in a seprate place from home its allways a worry. Littletree

O for the love of ivy some of my work with ivy
Littletree replied to Littletree's topic in General chat
O yes the ivy trees are the best I have compleatly di ived a few trees and compleatly restored them to there former glory. its amazing what you can be done . I just do it on a day rate so its happy days all round I love the ivy jobs it keeps me busy If there is a job my tools will do and its safe for me to do it I go for it no matter how grim it looks . now am back there for another couple of days to reduce there trees for them and then do some more ivy removal on the gate you cannot see the fence the ivy has grown 3 feet thick so will make it real neat for them tom. the fun continues . next week I have got some wonderfull jobs on a couple small tree dismantles and then a job on a garden full of very very thick brambles to remove the strands are as thick as best garden rubarb .love it .
