    Tales of PGK

Nooooooo, that's just too funny PMSL, I think the phrase goes.
  3. And the media makes out that students spend all their time lounging on interwed forums. As if....
  4. I think your free eyelash perm with every Stilh sold will be very popular
  5. Why can't he repair the wall? All it would take is a bit of ingenuity and a willingness to create "cut outs" (sorry, I don't know the technical term) to accomodate the trees. It seems like he's taken the decision to allow the wall to continue to decline out of bloody mindedness.
  6. That may just be a result of the slightly crazed way you start mumbling about VTA and mycelium at them

    Tales of PGK

Great stories . You tell a good tale and you write beutifully. Keep 'em coming Clarence, er, sorry, PGK...
  8. Well done for stopping. Far too many people just pass on by, seeing it as entertainment, an inconvenience or someone else's problem. I've not had my wonder woman cape on and done anything spectacular, other than my usual letting out cars, smiling at bus drivers, saying thank you to shop assistants and generally being a "wierdo".

    BBC 1 now

Got it on now. Fake viagra article. So that's where all my spam emails originate from

    biker meet

I try and avoid the Ace on Fridays and Sundays as it gets far too crowded for my liking. I also find myself feeing really old and muttering about the anti social antics of the so called "stunt" riders... I'm aiming to get down there this eve' for the London Bikers newbie meet, if you want to nick the kid's bike and come along?

    Foo fighters

You were so lucky with the weather as well. I hate buying advance tickets for outdoor events as you never know whether you're going to get drowned or toasted. I don't think you could've had it any better for watching a brilliant band yesterday
  12. Gorgeous pictures, Sean The FBs look weirdly plastic when they're shown that close uo.
  13. So THAT'S why you can't move off the sofa today
  14. Oooh Chris, now now. It's a rare word that can be spelt either way - try Googling both options. I may occasionally be a bit too tired and cranky to convey my generally good natured sentiments in a post, but an idiot? Tisk tisk, that's not very nice, now is it? Put your teddies back in your pram and get over it.
  15. If you're going to be pedantic and so negative, at least make sure you're spelling is correct It can correctly be spelt either way, in case you are confused.
  16. I'll second that. I've surveyed a lot of Ginkgos, both male and female, and the do get very big. More importantly for this location, they have very long, almost horizontal lateral branches that would be whipping the front of the property in no time. How about a quince or a medlar? They are both beatiful small trees and they have edible fruit as well
  17. Everything you always wanted to know about scale insects: Horse chestnut scale / Royal Horticultural Society
  18. Really??? The only times I have been to Syon in recent years have been when all the new construction was taking place or recently after. It would never have occurred to me that the tree pit was already in situ before the new carpark was laid out. I have seen trees planted in shallow pits before to help collect and retain moisture in very dry conditions but never anything this extreme and the only way I interpreted it was to assume that it was a new construction. Thanks for the insight. Planners - I apologise. This time (I'm sure you deserve the flack for many other tree travesties that you have passed previously ).
  19. Ditto. The amount of times either myself or one of my colleagues has been asked for their comments, only to have them completely ignored has been countless. How anyone could think it's ok to bury 90+% of this tree's root area and for it to then have any amount of SULE is beyound me
  20. The power of the mighty mycelium. Buried under a layer of tarmac? Pah, no problem for this tough cookie
  21. I saw this shocker in a fairly new carpark area at Syon Park (for any London locals) today. The new surface level has got to be nearly 1m above the previous ground level around this lime. How long do you reckon it's going to last ?
  22. No. But it's pretty cool. I'd guess a gall of some description?

    biker meet

Where are you meeting for Sat's ride out? I've got to get a bit of work done on the bike first thing in the morning (new geny cover fitted ) and I may as well blow work out for the whole day and go back to it on the Sun.
