Strong wind and rain now. Off to fire up the mill again......I love working from home:thumbup1:
  2. What a PITA. Rain and wind here today, Im so glad we didnt have all that white crap to deal with.
  3. Sorry, typo:blushing: 361 indeed.
  4. LMFAO..... Nah, that enourmous sign in pool by the new junction doesnt say 'pool is the future'- everyone knows thats nonsense lol- its just banging on about the 'future of pool'.......thats why there is nothing of interest written under the huge heading:laugh1:
  5. Or just go straight in at £190 ish and get some lovely new ali geckos with velcro and lovely padding:thumbup1:
  6. Yeah- i started typing along those lines and decided that unless i took up the rest of Steve Bullmans internet allowance (if that exists LOL) i had better not get too deep, so deleted loads:blushing:
  7. Dave that was an honest question, and i was sure you would know....Its just that what you wrote in the first post confused me a bit, and i like to know this sh it:blushing:
  8. Bri try to pity them not hate them really. They havent a clue what they are wasting- life- and how good is their future looking. Most of these kids (he says in a SWEEPING generalisation:blushing:) are going to wind up on the giant scrap heap of society, and TBH in alot of cases it is the same society that abuses and despises these people that has created them, without getting too deep and long winded. For alot of them there is no visible option- they follow in the footsteps of out of work, depressed and often substance dependent parents, who themselves are seen as this 'burden' ar 'lowest of the low scum' of society. I feel that given the despicable and frivolous way our society as a whole wastes in pirsuit of money, it really makes little to no odds to us how much these kids waste their lives, in so far that most of our prejudices in general are misconception/ media/ politically bred, and their presence alone is not threat/ burden in truth. Its sad, but to judge in this way- and we are all guilty of it at one point or another:blushing:- is probably a little on the road to rupes poster/ post.
  9. Thats right. Click the button that says 'browse' and it will open up your computer. Click on images or pictures and you will see your pics that are in your pc, and then select the one you want. Do it for each pic you want to upload, then when you have chosen them look to the right of the page where it says 'upload' and click it. The pics will then upload (it takes time depending on how many pics and you internet speed) and then when it is done go back to the box you wer typing your messsage in and click the paperclip icon again, which lets you insert the pics into your message. Then press submint reply, job done!

Hah- i was just about to say it depends where you look. Met check and met office websit both saying different, and telly is different again.....twice on two different channels. One thing you can be certain of though........there WILL be SOME weather of SOME variety:lol:
  16. Have thay improved the camera on the new iphones and sorted out the infuriating lack of ability to receive picture messages or forward messages, coz if so ill have one like a shot.
  17. Couldnt agree more. Dave, i am amazed you like the N96, i HATE mine with a vengeance, and when i have time i am going to replace it (i am due an upgrade), but what for???? The only phone i really like are nokia, and other than samsung apparently have the least reliability issues (other than the N96lol). The best phone i ever had was the N95 8gb. Reliable, sat nav, awesome camera and strong reception. Unfortunately you cant get one, but i am assuerd that the N86 is the dogs danglies by various shops and my service provider (o2) who are dropping nearly all the n series nokias other than that one, and the closest thing to the n95 8gig. It feels pretty solid too. Having said that i am going to look at the N97 and N900, cos i am a total sucker for gadgets on phones. Hope that helps.
  18. NOW you tell me...... Cheers dave, I could probably find a worthy home for that one, aside from SWB who is after this one after olly has grown out of it:001_cool:
  19. You should think about the different structural qualities of timbers- what sort of lateral strength they have, what sort of grain they have (long or short grained ) how they respond to crush loading, what rot resistance the timber posses etc. It isnt an exact science by any means. Oak varies wildly from q.robur which can be used for pretty much ANY application, to q.cerris which is good for sweet f.a. Some softwoods will last for years without any treatment (thuja plicata, larix kaemferi) whereas others will rot as soon as anything (picea sitchensis). Really you need to get some books on timber usage which gives you this sort of info. A good book which has lots of timbers in it and their properties is WoodCentral's Book Reviews: Wood Identification and Use by Terry Porter, which could give you plenty to work on. Other considerations should be cost and availability....obviosly there is a lot more softwood out there for harvest than oak, which is reflected in modern building techniques, alot of which is price driven... Good luck.
  20. Thats about the way i see it. On site milling with an alaskan....in fact ANY milling with an alaskan is, for me, to time consuming and wasteful for an inferior finish. The best money from milling i have found (in nearly 12 years of having mills) is to turn up on site to find a loading machine supplied, and wood spotlessly clean and debarked. That way it is possible to make lots of money with minimal expenditure....pretty much just fuel. Of course it is not uncommon to get to a job and find the timber full of nails.........
  21. Damn.....missed oppotunity there. Doh!
  22. Absoloutely mate:thumbup1:
