Treemeup- cant you find a sailmaker/ chandlery that does rigging and get a splice put in your rope....near me you can get it done for about £6 in any rope, they dont seem to worry. OK it wont have the correct markings for a LOLER, but thats a different story. If you are worried about that borrow a rope for a few days and send yours to the likes of Honey Brothers who, i think, can splice it and put the correct labeling on too.

Cool. Not sure if its quite what i/ we are after. I am thinking of it with another chap and we are looking at the forwarding trailer that riko supply. It would be partenered with that if we go for it. Ill defo pass on the holder to him though. Cheers.

I dont see the problem with screwing/ nailing into the timber. For those of you saying it is useable wood, then i think you are a bit mis-guided...the slabwood is waste anyway, as is poor quality and very sappy esp with oak.

Couldnt agree more. I will sit in court arguing about the semantics of and definition of the word waste, and if the judge wants to consider something i have a use for as waste, then i will get a licence, and furthermore, if i get stopped and accused of carrying waste i wont back down untill i have been to court. All this claptrap in that EA PDF is irrelevant as it is drawn up by a bunch of civil SERVANTS in an office and has no bearing WHATSOEVER to the reality of guys like us in our daily work. I have a use for every single arising from tree surgery, so it is NOT waste. "Definition of Waste "Any substance or object the holder discards, intends to discard or is required to discard" Taken from the european Waste Framework Directive. The more we all panic and buy their bullsh it licences the more they wil create licences and fine-able offences.
