  1. Just looking again...do you fill the trailer and then put gloria and the wheelbarrow in the van?
  2. What a great tool, and looking well sorted with van and trailer etc.
  3. Well you cant say fairer than that!
  4. You say that Matty, but i have worn one out with that much use, and my mate has had his for about 3 years and does alot of logs. I have also lent mine and he his, to a mutual friend over the last few winters, and between us we have never experienced what you mention with logs spinning round. Dont believe the hype......it is pretty difficult to get your hand trapped. You would have to be a total numpty or so tired that you had no business being near equipment anyway. It isnt very likely and that is a fact.
  5. Nice one Ady. Sorry i cant make it tomorrow, would have been nice to christen her with you......as it were!
  6. Ady its been 2 minutes....where are you.....
  7. I have an amazing system, which never fails me.....its called a map. I have had copilot and something on another phone. What a waste of time and money IMHO. Street map in town, and road map on the journey. How did we ever survive to the 21st century i wonder LOL.
  8. Get a hycrack. They have shear pins and the shaft is guarded. They are excellent splitters and you would have to be a total tw at to get caught up in one. Brilliant machines, just a modecom of common sencse is needed. Very efficient and much faster than these hydraulic ram based things. about 700 notes and its yours......Hycrack (Hy-Crack) the screw type log splitter - The Safe, Fast & Efficient way to split logs
  9. I think grahams advice was good. If the wage is suitable for you, even maybe at a push, and given from what you say you are getting very sporadic/ no wages now, then what an opportunity!
  10. You'll be needing a bigger shed soon mate!
  11. Hey thats looking allright mate. Plenty of light too by the looks of it. Bit too much space in there though eh mate......You need to get a few more logs in!! Good to see some bracing up too!
  12. Yeah i have a new bit kicking around somewhere, and thats pretty shiny. Still cant remember for sure if that was it or not lol.
  13. I disagree. I used to have one, and a mate has one. I reckon they are pretty speedy, with a sharp tip/ cone they will tackle almost everything i threw at it, and as long as you put firm pressure on the top of the log as you push it to the cone then it doesnt spin round very often.
  14. Thats what i would like to know.......I have some i use for my VT, but cannot for the life of me remember its name. In fact i thnk you were there when i bought it werent you steve? As i understand it the 'anti-bowline' thing has come about because some lad clipped the wrong part of the knot into his 'biner and fell out of the tree as the knot was pulled undone. It was late in the day, wet and his harness was hidden a bit by his waterproof jacket apparently....If he had had a stopper knot at the end of the tail it wouldnt have happened, and he was alos using a very small bowline such as in the pic above (no criticism intended BTW Treeson, just an example, thanks:thumbup1:) which in the wet and doing things by feel....
  15. John- nice explanation.....what the hell did it mean:confused1: only joking:laugh1:
  16. What a terrible thing, whatever the reasons behind it.
  17. Nice one. Necessity being the mother of all invention and all that.
  18. Haha what a star.......who is the guy in the cowboy hat though lol.
  19. I have got a pretty elderly one, which is pretty scabby looking, but still goes like the proverbial...I have put a decent size engine on mine which helps, but even when it had the little petrol on it it was godod. Theyre pretty rugged and chunky, but they wont let you down. I would happily have another one.
  20. LOL Jon's got a stihl 036 thats had years of use and still looks like new!
  21. Like john said, although i would add that it is vermeer, so you are unlikely to have too many issued with it, and Vermeer UK are one of the most helpful companies i have ever dealt with.
