  1. Thats just soooo wrong:thumbdown:
  2. Yeah- have had for years- i tore a muscle in my shoulder when younger which pulled my thorassic spine across to the left, and have two discs mising each side of L4 vertebra, which has slipped forward and i now have a 90 degree bend in my spine there. A large part of my treatment involves deep tissue massage, as well as manipulation (usually in my cranial and thorasic vertebra from referred problems from lower down), and even ultra sound and lazer therapy. Ive not been for a while now, and ned my neck realigning, as i cant lift my right arm above my shoulder without excruciating pain if at all. You should try Roz Boisseau at Hawksland (she has been sorting me out for years), or Malcom |Retallick in wadebridge. I am sure there are others closer to you- in fact i recal someone mentioning someone very good in newquay, but i cant remember who.
  3. TBH the concreting in of the pitchers is the least of the problems with that wall. The fact that the stones run up and down all over the place.....they should all be level- not running with the ground, not running uphill etc etc. IIRC the stone is an igneous stone, making it granular. This sort of stone (like most) is eminently workable with the right handtools (which TBH there is no excuse for not having if one is charging for stonework) so the shape of the stone cannot be an excuse. Dean mentioned Jumpers. If there are no jumpers in the surrounding stonewalls, then there oughtnt be in this wall, although down here jumpers are an essential part of the wall, to eliminate long horizontal joints. Vertical joints are to be avoided, the rules on jumpers being that you should only have two stones to a jumper. Given the size of the jumpers in this wall, compared to the height of the other stones, that would be fairly difficult. Dean- is the large jumper in the middle of the first shot a stone on edge?? That IS criminal. If i am building stone walls, a jumper would go into the wall as far or further than it is high.
  4. You are right- but all our dogs have been brought up like that, but have the added advantage of free run over 35 acres. They regularly catch rabbits/ rats and other small cute furry things, or rob them off the cat too (who NEVER gets fed catfood ) so are fairly self sufficient. We alternate the days on which they arent fed too, so there is no regularity......and its not unheard of for them to scavenge rotten stuff either.......heres one of them looking rather pleased with himself for finding this ....which he later ate, after snoozing on it for a while. I remember at our last farm our landlord left a dead sheep lying about for a few days one summer, and our (now deceased) bloodhound x was found head and shoulders inside the putrefying carcass which by then had been put on top of a stack of round bales...creating a nice green 'water' feature......yuk!
  5. You ought to steer well clear of chiropracters, as they are usually taught one thing and that is manipulation (bone cracking) which is fine IF that is what is required, but will be doing unbelievable damage if that is not what your injury requires. They are seen as 'alternative' medicine. along with the likes of faith healers etc by the general medical council. Physiotherapy and osteopathy are the only spino-skeletal processes that are deemed safe. This is because a broad range of treatments are carried out, including everything that a chiropracter can offer, but not exclusively. Ill stop waffling, but get yourself down to a registered physiotherapist. Edit: who do you see Ian?
  6. Haha- could be- but like i say- there are more than those 6 dogs i mentioned in the world LOL!!
  7. Do you feed your dogs every day Dean? We dont feed ours on at least 2 days of the week. It is a little more like their natural feeding habit. They are scavengers/ hunters in the wild, and would regularly go without food for 24- 48 hrs in season, and longer out of season, and often gorge and then go without. Its only a theory, but it seems to work, and they are out running around all day every day. What do you reckon?
  8. Not sure i agree ady. I know of a few people who have brother and sister from the same litter, and invariably there is one mental thin one, and one lazy chubby one. I have noticed this with collies, border terriers, and in redruth a couple of weeks back in jack russels. I do admit that there are a few more dogs out there thanm that though:001_rolleyes:
  9. I think it would be verging on commercial suicide to charge for collection of money!! Esp when a transfer has been offered.
  10. Isnt oxy-acetylene for cutting or brazing, as opposed to true welding which requires a mig, tig or arc welder etc? (im no welder BTW:001_smile:)
  11. RPZ's needed in the in the carpark maybe?
  12. I have only just read through this thread, and got to josh's comment, which summed up how i feel about it. I remember feling last year thatr if i was an AA member the shiow would have made more sense if yousee what i mean. Having said that, if i had not had to wait for payment off loads of people then i would have gone this year......
  13. Always wear clean underwear in public, especially when working under your vehicle. From the Daily News comes this story of a Leicester couple who drove their car to ASDA, only to have their car break down in the car park. The man told his wife to carry on with the shopping while he fixed the car. The wife returned later to see a small group of people near the car. On closer inspection, she saw a pair of hairy legs protruding from under the chassis. Unfortunately, although the man was in shorts, his lack of underpants turned his private parts into glaringly public ones.. Unable to stand the embarrassment, she dutifully stepped forward, quickly put her hand UP his shorts, and tucked everything back into place. On regaining her feet, she looked across the bonnet and found herself staring at her husband who was standing idly by watching. The AA mechanic, however, had to have three stitches in his forehead.
  14. Me neither, and i agree- great shots. Were you up in the tree or in a mewp or summat John?
  15. You could always get a new mortgage against the HIFI frank.......
  16. LOL- Brian- your comment was both misguided and totally out of line mate. I dont know who you think you are, making {incorrect and unfounded} comments about my financial affairs on a public forum. If i had one iota of respect for you then i would be bothered, but TBH I am not surprised at you making comments like that. It shows a level of intelligence and decency I would only expect from you anyway. Thanks for the comment though steve.
  17. Cool carvings Jen. Thuja is great for carving eh? openboater- I love the treble clef.
  18. Aaah....... speaks the voice of experience...
  19. I get 2gb from o2 free per month.
  20. I dont see this as a poimtless thread....Brodie isnt asking us how much we earn, or what sawpants to buy, or what the answer to his dissertation should be. He seems to be an experienced guy who wants to earn a semi decent wage. Brodie, I think that if you do have the skills and experience you mention in your other thread, then you have been getting far too little mate. I pay my groundie 10/hour, and subby climber minimum of 120 a day, but they both work very hard and efficiently, so i think they are worth it. I cannpot help you at the mo Brodie, but i hope that someone who is less sarcastic than some have been may find you work, or if not that something comes your way mate.
  21. wow- you must be on serious money!!!! Some of us obviously earn nearly some money:laugh1:
