  1. 10 degrees instead of the normal 25 or 30. 90 degrees to bar. Not come across anything else in 13 years.
  2. That 620 has a hydraulic valve under the feed hopper. If you want to fit a safety bar then swap it for a spool valve and rig that up to a bar. Ensure that the system requires two hands to release it to get the roller turning again in order to be HSE compliant. Its not a difficult job TBH. I used to have one- fantastic machine (but then I did put a huge diesel engine on it lol)
  3. "Any questions feel few to ask"......????
  4. Ye4ah boomeco wil take it, but really they want it loaded off concrete, 28 tonne at a time, and no twigs etc (you know the last few shovelfulls that dont get put through the chipper) but you can scrape this off before you tip onto your chip pile. They will take it if you dont have a concrete based storage area, but may want to come and see it first.they will pay more than £5/ ton if you push them a little...
  5. FAB mate!! 4 cuts!! Thats the way!
  6. Oops. One for profi magazine methinks!
  7. Terrible news. Very sad indeed.
  8. NO Dave- its the most likely outcome:thumbup1:
  9. It will survive pretty much anything....but if you cut that much off it then you will end up with a horrendous mess in the future.
  10. BTW are you getting a bitch or a dog......coz if you get a terrier bitch your labs life will be over.....they are little buggers that HAVE to be in charge!!
  11. TBH andy I think you would find that there would be no problem. Adult dogs see pups as 'no go' areas as far as aggression is concerned. The usual outcome is that either your grumpy lab will surprise you and be really nice to pup, possibly even rejuvinating the lab, or the lab will just basically ignore the pup, with a few well timed f-off growls. I cant think of an occasion where i have seen an adult dog attack a pup.
  12. Ring round the local furniture makers- it ssurprising how the word gets around.
  13. I cant keep it in stock for any length of time- yew seems to fly out the door before its even properly dry!!
  14. If the traffic warden attempts to enter your work site, which will of course be properly coned off:sneaky2:, you are legally within your right to refuse them entry, and make them leave if they do enter. They would be hard pushed to get a ticket on you, and they have to get the notice on your vehicle or they have no case.
  15. If the turbo is on its way out there is a good chance of alot of smoke. If you arent getting that then its more likely to be something like blocked filters, or given that it is intermittent, a piece of dirt over the pick up in the tank. That will affect the rev point at which the turbo kicks in too. I would do all the cheap bits first. Change all the filters, and take the pick up pipe off the lift pump and having removed/ loosened the filler cap blow back down the fuel line with a compressor. If you have a filter in between the lift pump and the tank, blow it back from the tank side of that filter. Turbo on a rice rocket may be cripplingly expensive.....hope its dirty fuel related mate.
  16. I totally disagree with the hydraulic thing. I think its an expensive luxury you can do without. I have never felt the need for it (and regularly mill 17' long 3' diameter hardwoods) and a big cant hook has always been fine, and my mill is 2' off the gound on its wheels too. Furthermore the oldes and biggest mill in cornwall, a stenner rack saw based machne, has no hydraulics, using cant hooks too. Each to their own, but for me its more to go wrong, and alot of money which IMO is unnecessary. Furthermore, I think woodmiser are trading on a name they made when they had no competition to speak of. I have been taking more and more work off mizer based outfits as they are producing warped boards as the beds have been bending under the weight of big oak logs......
  17. Just been speaking to a largeish dealer in the south west, who is expecting them fairly imminently......around the time that the annual price rise comes in....usually at the end of feb. He also reckons that the price will be a teensy bit lower than he is knocking 200's out for....
  18. The 10' butt will be of interest to sawmills. The rest is probably worth what the equivalent firewood is worth, unless you dry and wax it ready for turning, then you may get around £10/ cubic foot.
