  1. I would work on day rate is it going to take 30 days how good are your lads. set price for me is a gamble, unless you really know your lads and can work on job and finish.Again I stress you should ask for a spec sheet and work to that and do not do any work unless there is an order number or in writing or the old fashioned way a proper handshake, this is still seen as a legal contract between the two parties
  2. Just remember email is not really accepted in law.

  6. Price has you would any other job. what is the cost to you? Is the price you quote for logging and stacking or just felling. Is the price quoted, less the timber you sell? You should ask for a spec sheet then you will see what the customer really wants!!
  7. NPTC started as a self appointed body many many moons ago, LANTRA was the old agri training board. A few years ago city and guilds bought or aqiured NPTC. When i was at LANTRA last the staff told us that the NPTC went through LANTRA for the courses. The hedgelaying society have just been on this trip and we accept both certs. The LANTRA courses last five years, the NPTC is for life BUT they are now say you should be assessed every five years ?? this is another story!!!!. Heard today on the news that there is going to be a big shake up in the heath & safety business. Firms giving the wrong advice (wrong info) are to be targeted.

    Hand cream

Hi one good thing is washing up cleans the hands. you can get also a barrier cream put on before work. but I have found that if you get used to wearing gloves for those everyday jobs and even climbing your hands will get clean. This is from an old git that used to be a mechanic and a grafter.
