  1. Here in gods own country it is currently p*****g it down, and more forecast for tomorrow. That'll be the weevil spraying knocked on the head... paperwork day tomorrow me thinks.
  2. I think it's a good idea Steve! Theres too many posts on this forum that are derailed and turned into a general chin-wag. By the way... did you see the weather forecast tonight? Looks like rain again tomorrow..makes a difference from the weather last week.
  3. Tom, if you manage to find anything out, I'd also appreciate hearing about it.. Cheers, Matt

  13. seems we are getting showers every sigle day just latley... trying to get on with weevil spraying but you cant do it if theres any rain about, or even likley to be about within 4hrs of application..... buggering up my work schedule good an propper. Met office are useless here.... often forecast one thing and we get the total opposite.
  14. Nice looking job David...glad you enjoyed your holliday up here... it seems to be a kind of relax and escape area just here. I'm actually sat by the fire having a dram just now... thumbs up to that idea!!
  15. Dean - just a thought.. I had to get compliant for pesticides storage etc last year, and when I looked into it all, the easiest and cheapest way of making a chemical store and also legal is to get an old chest freezer... it is bunded and many of them are also lockable, if not they are easy to put a padlock on, they don't look out of place or draw unwanted attention and best part is they are dirt cheap or free. You also have to keep a record of what pesticides come in to the store, and what goes out, dates and quantities. Dont keep the record in the store though as if you have a fire, the fire brigade would need to know what quantities of what chemical you have in storage.
  16. Looks a nice trip stevie!! wee Zander is getting big!
  17. Have recently been asked to consider taking on the contract for extraction of the poles from the woods using a skidder or similar. I wonder if it would be possible to set up a stationary machine/scraper that we could winch the poles through to debark

  22. Cleaving the bark is a good way to do it but it would take way too long like that for commercial production...
