John, Cut this down yesterday, which is around 8" went through it no problem so yes looks like I can get the max cut.

Discos will be hard to find in that price range and LR even admit the 3 is full of problems largely reformed in the 4. You can find land cruisers for that money though which i should think would be a better truck at that price point.

The tigercut is a 210 but upgraded to 250mm blade they're about £3500 ish I think plus a bit for the blade uprade. It's a EZ28 running it with long dipper and extra weight op weight just over 3. It is a heavy attachment but works great just need to take a bit of care if I'm using it over the side or on slopes etc, but certainly is a good practical option for this size machine. Give Approved Hydraulics a call about the shear 08447707969 I dealt with Adam and Denis there they are super helpful service is excellent and they have huge knowledge of hydraulics etc even customised a rotating grab I purchased at the same time adding removable plates to allow it to pinch like a selector grab...I'll find some pics

We are on a beast of a Hawthorn hedge at the moment and it's cutting all I can cram into the cutting area of the Jaw (each side of the blade). Haven't tried it out on straight 250mm stem but a bunch of medium sized stems or union it cuts through pretty reliably. My machine is running at 225 bar will try to get some more pictures and some video of some cuts for you tomorrow

My 110 has a payload of around 1100kg. Can't give exact figures as it very rarely gets chipped into these days

Not in my experience, my 110 tipper has only used consumables over the last 5 years- a clutch, brake pads, oils and couple of half shafts with the exception of one fuel cooler pipe. Not sure where people get the idea that they are unreliable from, perhaps spending too little on the vehicle to begin with and buying someone's problems, or just bad luck

Land Rover will be best off road and take the inevitable knocks more gracefully, also being plated to 3.5t should carry more, 3.5t towing capacity is always handy too

I've got a pair of FS460's and they get used with shredder blades on some pretty heavy stuff. Both have been very reliable one is a very early model too.

My kinshoffer has a central frame like a log grab with a pivot st each end, don't know if it would make any difference, maybe just a larger capacity

See if slanetrac will adapt theirs for a skid steer, designed to work on relatively low flow excavators. They're a fair bit cheaper than any of the offerings from the skid steer brands.

I agree, they are pretty cheap new specially relative the top money they go for used. If you are claiming VAT back it is a no brainier. -
How much is the TMK? When I rang was told the guy was out of the country until end of month so I couldn't have any info.

...however, I recently purchased a indespension Alumax plant trailer and it's a great bit of kit, full weight down the motorway and you'd hardly know it was there very happy with it indeed and seems to be very well built despite being optimised for high payload weighing in it just 580kg.

Thanks, I'm aware it won't take much to topple it if cutting longer/heavier trees's, however I welcome the extra cut for getting around and bunching bulky unions/regrowth when re topping hedges, and getting horrible small stuff down right to ground level on site clearance type stuff to save getting amongst the bramble and blunting saws etc, would that be about right in your experience ? Also, went for the tiger cut as it looked a better product with much better dealer back up than the other the fact it has a bigger cut is just a bonus, may be able to stick it on a larger hired machine at some point if the opportunity arises .

I've a ifor TT105 should do all you need, won't find one from a company for 2500 though I don't think.

I've just purchased a bucket warehouse shear that cuts 190mm for my 3t machine but sent it back as didn't look great. Now ordered a intermercato Tiger cut 200E with a bigger blade so will do a 250mm cut. Not used yet but there's videos on their site/you tube of it being used on 3t and a larger machine maybe 8t or so can't quite remember though, and approved hydraulics are very helpful.
