  1. I got C1+E when I passed my test. Does that mean I'm old?
  2. I,ve got a big chest from van gaurd bolted to the floor in my yard. It should be a tool locker for the van. I got the biggest but they do different sizes. Tool Boxes
  3. I think thats what every student must think during their first week with any firm
  4. A village called Bafiloto, about halfway up the river Gambia. Do they have the Jacaranda trees with those amazing purple flowers in your part of Brazil? I pruned some of those in Argentina and some massive Tipo's! Trav that photo in your avatar isn't cayos Zapatillas in Panama is it? If so I got the same photo
  5. Dawn Redwood or the mighty Boabab. I've got Boabab growing at home I'm going to bonsai. I collected the seeds from this village.
  6. £200 is cheap for a man plus chipper. Brandons charge £120 plus vat plus £5 sharpening, fuel added to bill. I'd say £300 is nearer the mark, if its chipper + operater + disposal.
  7. I'm glad I wasn't driving along that road with my family on board while you were up that Ash. Why take the chance felling it with a live road behind you?
  8. Wow, can't beleive I won out of all those great shots. Shame I just got some new boots!
  9. I thought that it was some kind of re-verted foliage, but I've never seen this claw like growth on any other laburnum
  10. Pruned this hybrid laburnum this week to remove some very deformed branches. The offending branches curled back around like a claw and just kind of went wild. Any idea what causes this? I'm sure its not normal for a x laburnocytisus adamii? at least thats what I think it was. Sorry about the poor photos, I only took them on my phone as an afterthought
  11. Thanks for the details. I've got extra help at the moment and hoping to take time off end of September. I'll get in touch then, when I will have a better idea of how many days a week we will need a hand.
  12. Be quick, it will go as part exchange on the 3rd or 4th September, then re emerge on ebay for 4k plus
  13. Got a 2002 transit. 70k good condition. Its yours for 3k inc vat
  14. Ok, I'll lend you my camera
  15. Nice job, nice place. I'd hate to clear up that job though.
  16. I know about stu I called him last week. Its likely to be ongoing, similar volume to what he was doing.
  17. Thanks, I've been meaning to look into grants, may get time tommorow. I think the client is a bored millionaire type. He has already said that he has no real plans to harvest it its just something that he want to do because he has the land and knows some one else who has done it. Even so, if its just a dinner party topic, I still want to quote for something thats workable.
  18. I will be looking for a part time, paye or self employed worker a few days a week from mid september onwards to work with experienced team. Don't want to commit to another fulltime guy at this stage and amount of work each week is likely to vary so a local guy would be better. Rates of pay depending on applicant, tickets, experience etc. Could be new guy looking for experience, (Competant rescuer and chain saw user prefered) or experienced climber, we will adapt to suit the right person. Varied work to include LA, Domestic and Estates. No railwork or line clearence. Based just outside Exeter.
  19. I've been asked to provide a quote to plant a small wood on a private estate with a view to eventualy producing some woodfuel for the house. The site is currently pasture on a small hillside facing a town 10 miles from the coast. I am thinking of planting around 200 trees, a mix of Ash, Alder and Hazel at 2m spacing with some Oak standards. These wood be screef planted then mulched for a 1.5m radius. Eventually the coppice would be cut on a 15 year cycle harvesting 40 stools every 3 years. I've not done much woodland management before so would appreciate any advice on whether this is a feasible idea, choice of species and an idea of the volume of wood likely to be produced?
