  6. you know where one is anyway. great saws that spend most of their time in a box, but when you need it they are usually life savers

  9. i leave a line in loads and rigging stuff, i think a lot of us live in diferent environments. bad luck mate, there was a guy on classifieds selling loads of stuff
  10. sorry, i keep forgetting about clarks. if you want value for money then go for stretch airs, they will last much longer than a few pairs of the cheaper ones, the problem with most trousers are the crotch failing and this is mainly caused by bad fitting, get a good pair of braces or maybe bib and brace, i dont know if the stretch airs come in bib and brace. either clarks or justin will soon tell you:001_smile:
  11. they can take a real beating and can boogy on the rd, but small. a good gaffers vehicle for going between jobs, nipping off road and towing the odd trailer i reckon. we have had 5 guys and mountains of rigging gear in one before and it wasnt very amusing to say the least lol
  12. ok, forget my micro jammies then big chap, stihl do cracking bib n brace sets, they are roomy and well comfy, not expensive either:001_smile:
  13. the simple answer is whats your budget. then all yo do is either seek out a better second hand pair on here or call up jonesie and tell him how much you have to spend and he will give you the best deal he can mate
  14. are you fat or thin then, i have 2 pairs of stihl single protection, they are about 30inch waist and for a small guy about 5'5". midget trousers for a groundie that chucked it, hardly used
  15. i shall go and try and get that now me thinks, cheers mark
  16. Forget the term tree surgeon, i did the minute i started doing the job for real, i had been studying a honey brothers magazine for a couple of years, cover to cover. Looking at every detail of the climber on the front cover. thats how i learnt how to climb. from a single picture. A friend gave me the magazine, it was a picture of a guy dismantling a huge pine, he was stropped on, had his top line set and was knocking out monster lumps that were getting pulled over. From the second i saw that pic i wanted to be him, the glory of the big wood i thought. I hace tried the edition on the web but i cant. I always wanted to be a tree surgeon but has never seen one except once on the telly, but i had the vision of me being the guy up the tree on day one, then i realised being up a tree on a rope and harness was terrifying and as hard as hell. but i knocked my pan in with graft and lived and breathed the job. turn your brain off and monkey monkey, thats what i was told from the guys that taught me, and its true. if you are wearing a jumper or jacket then you arent working hard enough imo when you first start out on this job. it will ust all of a sudden come together, it is second nature to me now and i love it, i lost interest in the job a few years back but finding arbtalk and meeting the members has rekindled my love for the job. good luck new guys:thumbup:
  17. 046 tastic on the big limbs for me, but obviously you did it the best way possible tom, i took the big one i did offsite for nothing for firewood, i just priced it to section but it was too good to leave to rot imo, it was spalted so dont tell the woodmizer guys, i split the huge rings with an maul, it was a doddle. nice one:thumbup1:
  18. jonesie is a member on here, his company is on the side of the screen. f r jones and son. he deals in the jobeau model. good guy aswell, prices and service are excellent:thumbup1:
  19. simple, dont put any crap in it, my wee machine has easy done over 100hrs on the same blades. if i hadnt hit something in the cony yesterday they would be fine still, it is still chipping great and pulling in stuff but i can tell it has lost its edge, i will take a pic of the blades and ut them up:001_smile:
  20. you aint alowed to tow standard farm trailers with a mog. on no i am one of the mog police now:blushing:. you need a pick up hitch. dont go for the cheapest as you will be towing a heavy trailer at high speeds most probably with no brakes, which you shouldnt be doing anyway. call acprice engineering, google them. he is the best in the counrty with out a doubt, but expect to pay a few grand, or i would just buy a mog trailer with brakes off him, or pm skyhuck, he has a second hand one that he may sell, that is made for a mog:001_cool:
