  1. so on the flat the brakes will work in reverse and if gradient and weight is enough, it can get unlocked as the trailer thinks its reversing so to speak
  2. Pete they do disengage when reversing unless you do it quickly, then the brakes come on. But ive reversed trailers into driveways, put on the handbrake and they have taken off and this is with good trailers with serviced brakes.
  3. I need help to settle a debate between myself and a friend. I have twice lost trailers backwards down a driveway with the handbreak on and a chipper. I was under the impression the braking mechanism only works parked facing forwards. Have i had faulty trailers and have to eat humble pie :blushing:or can i gloat a him over coffee tommorrow:biggrin:
  4. Same here, well until the wind picked up. T shirt time, it felt great
  5. I spent an hour today in my mates firewood yard sorting out his timber stacks, he is the same as you with a forklift . I restacked and removed the big stuff for the splitter . Moved about 20 tons in an hour and made it all lovely. Sorry no pics.
  6. all i would say is get your groundies to wear hard hats. good job!
  7. gloria the chipper goes on aswell for a 4" tracked chipper!
  8. sorry i was expecting some comon sense to be used.
  9. pole saw and spear cut it or just climb it and do the same. you can fold it aswell.
  10. what about getting a mulcher in thats what ive done in the past.
  11. I never charge more for call it, I wouldn't take advantage of someone in a crisis . I charge what I feel is fare for the job taking into consideration all the factors . It was a couple of hours overtime with a saw and harness, plus a bit of danger money and hero bonus for saving the bt lines. £100 is fair for work so far imo
  12. Your tyres are facing forwards so more grip.

I have no preference, I rob bits out my climbing bag daily for pulling cars out ditches and tying things down. So whatever I can scrabble about for and stick it on, Currently rocking a big heavy steal 1 on my flip line and I still have some good rejects from a climbing shop were chucking out, going strong after 6 years😃
  14. i shouted " watch your saws at the first winch " great video:thumbup1:
  15. good chipper John, but not any diferent to your TP, just take the hopper off and move the valve block and operate it with a big spring and a bit of rope. Have the spring set to pull it to reverse and you pull it tight and lock it off in the cab for inward.
  16. it was obviously a guy haveing a go at a demo or the usual salesman trying to sell his product rather than get an operator in to show it of:001_rolleyes:
