  1. These things always seem to happen in spates. Had a vehicle stolen a few years ago in Staffs. They took my Isuzu pick up as I was stood next to it. I'd reversed it and a trailer up a wet grass verge in low box, got out and was talking to the client when a bloke appeared from nowhere, jumped in and drove off. I'd left the keys in but was only 6' away from the truck! Police said that six 4x4s had been stolen that day in Stafford and the probability was they'd be in crates bound for Southern Ireland or Arab states. Never did turn up.
  2. Happy new yiar. Just in and not too bad really. Started on hawaiian sunrise then moose milk then malibu and finished with jack daniels. No cider just poof drinks. \let the dog out and have to find the truck tommorrow:thumbup1:
  3. Must say it's been really interesting following this thread:thumbup1:
  4. All of the same age group which suggests, to me, that something occured to them as saplings in a relatively small area. As mentioned previously: mud slide or extraction damage, a flood from a burst bank, mans' interference to provide knees for boats or probably none of these:confused1:
  5. Not sure if any of you into country blues but here's a Tommy McClennan song for you:001_smile: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFknuUUMnnc]'Cross Cut Saw Blues' TOMMY McCLENNAN (1941) Delta Blues Guitar Legend - YouTube[/ame]
  6. Looks a nasty little injury. Feel for you there and hope all goes well.
  7. Seen similar setups for hedgecutting just on a Transit scale:001_smile:

    Jokes???

Two Rats are talking in a sewer. One says to the other, "I'm sick to death of ****... it's all we ever eat... **** for breakfast, **** for lunch and **** for tea... I'm sick of it." "Don't worry", replied the other rat... "We're on the piss tonight."
  9. I'll get me pen:001_smile:
  10. I was od ing on coffee about 15yrs ago. Suffering palpitations, shakes etc. Have about three cups of proper coffee now. Couldn't do without one first thing though. Don't think it affected my blood pressure as it's pretty stable at 85/28 I think.
  11. Can't understand what attraction there is in having a bath in the garden:confused1:
  12. Is the chain sharpened equally? If not it will want to pull to one side and bind up.
  13. For me; It's a Wonderful Life starring James Stewart. A fine actor and an even finer man in 'real life' mainly for his distinguished US airforce career.
  14. Here we go again:001_smile: Scutellinia umbrarum, Armillaria and Bulgaria inquinans?
  15. Just put a pair of reading glasses on and can see even more now:confused1:
  16. Probably even further away now.....Scutellinia umbrarum and Armillaria
  17. One may be Armillaria but then again I'm usually way off the mark:001_smile:
  18. Husky bikes haven't been built in Sweden for a long time. Sold off to the Italians and now owned by BMW. My first dirt bike was Husky until it blew up. I've ridden the newest 300 stroker and it's nice. Very popular in Europe and at least they're keeping the orange plague at bay:001_smile:
  19. If you listen to the lad's story then he had bought a ticket but the wrong one. He evidently spends £200 per month on train travel to Uni but had had a night on the town and travelled a bit worse for wear. I have no idea if this is true though. Personally I think it was a matter between the train operator and British Transport Police.
  20. In my early days...I was 16...one of my first jobs was to cut up a big, windblown walnut. Makes me cringe now that it was all cut up for firewood but I took it all home on the tractor to my mum for logs. Was the worst wood we ever burnt:001_smile:
  21. It's either Ulmus glabra or Acer campestre. I think the term is corky bast.
