  1. A little upper cylinder lubricant is a treat for it but can cause plug fouling, not an issue in the short term...
  2. Firstly, why thin it with paraffin?! Chain oil needs to be thicker (higher visc) than engine oil; so they've got that the wrong way round for starters... If they're trying to save money, they can kill two birds with one stone by buying tesco veg oil at £1/litre...
  3. Ring them! That's a bit savage; poor bloke's deperate and he should have first dibs?
  4. That is a Denis-Cimaf head. Best that money can buy, period.
  5. Ditto. Well, you can do it in a hilux anyway, start off in Low 2nd then just slip it into High.
  6. I didn't mean tanaka was rubbish but i think Agree to disagree; plastics, fixtures, fittings of tanaka less substantial than Yamabiko/Kioritz. Sure they're pro grade. Echo blower I had was utter junk compared to the Tanaka I admit, long handled hedge cutters tho - we called then Tanackered whereas the echo - bliss.
  7. Second that. £390 for 2 men and chipper, £450 for 3 men so boss takes hit on that. I know of a gang in PLY who were doing 4 man days for under £300. Glad to be well out of arb work, with the exception of looking after long-term customers.
  8. Blessing in disguise. Echo is in another (higher) league than Tanaka...
  9. Plain trailer, no crane; hmmm nokka I reckon, or farmi. I like the new farma ones but c/w crane only? People reckon farma is cheap; flippin reasonable I say, really nice. or as above kronos etc
  10. I had about 15 tonne of it which went mouldy so I chucked it on the bonfire; burnt so well, the rumour it was rubbish was disproven there and then.
  11. That should melt that bottle ???
  12. Anyone tried the 6L Harkie or 8L Paddy ? Harkie Combi Fuel can and Auto Nozzel Fuel Can, 8 Litre Combination Oils or Fuels Can, Paddy Hopkirk | homelogging.co.uk
  13. pto pump, no messing about.
  14. unfortunately it will hot start as it's a mcculloch not a 550xp
  15. Saw this van this morning; very surprised the van hadn't been altered as shown Home
  16. as above x2 is a good guestimate. Ref stacked roundwood, 0.55 is standard mate but stuff we're cutting at the moment is 0.6 as it's beautiful (sorry I'm keeping it all lol ). Would have to be rolls royce to be done at softwoods 0.7... That stuff up the road by SDCF I told you about is oak & ash, all small processor i.e. 3-6".
  17. You mean 34m3 of loose logs? Not roundwood on the lorry - not in a million years! That's what you'd get on an artic or wagon and drag, never an 8 wheeler. Someone's milkiing you good and proper if that's what they're telling you comes in on an 8 wheeler. Even if it was bone dry, you'd struggle to get more than 25m3 on a 8 wheeler with pins way up high... Re OP Q&A; 2 m3 loads loose logs per tonne or m3 roundwood - ISH; some same more, some say less. So the 34 is bang on in that respect.
  18. MS461.
  19. I will hold on. Adore the 660 but want latest model lol
  20. Hi, any update on this? About to buy a 660 but should I wait? Is the 661 imminent? Tis on F&A website???
  21. Love the lawnflites Had pressure-lubed kawasaki motored Ariens LM21SW - pretty good actually and lighter. Has the mulch / bag / side discharge option... and zero turn http://www.ariens.com/en-us/walk-behind-mowers/classic-lm Viking 7 series?
  22. Small redwood really but big in UK terms; 4 ft butts minimum... Never shifted the stuff before
  23. sorry, well old then and I thought it was new
