  1. I drive right past that view twice a day, every day. The grade of workmanship is no worse than a lot of other planting / landscaping; the tree ties make me mad. I went the whole of cattedown some years ago "setting trees free". Members of the public re-attached 10 y/o trees lol. Clueless.
  2. That's just a pile of hard work, not profit.
  3. What are R&T taking ages to do? What happened to first one? Dead already?
  4. I rebuilt a 341 with hutzl (PRC repro) parts - pretty flippin crap. Mister and GHS on ebay do meteor et al - much better.
  5. As above, just too hot, sweaty and restrictive. Just get wet.
  6. sorry do'h
  7. £20/metre3 ??? No way! £26+ here.
  8. rope made out of softwood?
  9. Rubber tracks must be a no-no surely?
  10. Richard Court Forestry Engineering, based in Surrey, cover the whole of southern England. We specialise in service and repairs of all arboricultural and forestry machinery
  11. Is this the one that was in Forestry Journal this month in somerset? Came with a whole other one for spares? Good purchase.
  12. Would happily never touch hardwood again - in any part of the process; planting it, thinning it, felling it, harvesting it, forwarding it, seasoning it, logging it... hard on you, hard on the gear.
  13. I don't know Joe at all, just Richard - re-wired the saw home sensor in my head 2 days ago - bless him he drove a flippin' long way to get me going. Was bending bars like they were going out of fashion. Rich said Joe had a HSM forwarder...
  14. I'm keeping the mesh guard over the back window!
  15. love seeing that still going strong...
  16. Fraudster mate off we go again zzzz FORESTRY KETO 51LD TIMBER HARVESTING HEAD | eBay
  17. I tend to agree about the Timbermatic (300), not exactly logical. H754 head on my 1070D has automatic chain tensioner tho. I'm fat too but I think the TJ cab is massive; you should try a Valmet - absolutely tiny. Ponsse must be mahoosive.
  18. you can't! £9 is bad enough.
  19. +1 why's that then? Genuinely interested... in as little as 5 years?
  20. As above, the focus on native broadleaf planting is not only exacerbating the decline in conifer planting, it is also going to add to the huge proportion of unmanaged broadleaved forest in the UK. This is for the simple reason that there is no economic basis for growing most of the hardwood forests, and it is the softwoods thats are managed because their economic output justifies the management input. This simple equation is still lost on all those charities and NGO's who drive the planting of yet more grey squirrel fodder.
  21. +1; essential imo, don't go spending it!
