  1. End Grain = dust Along grain = ribbons Across grain = chips
  2. £10k down on sales so far this season and last year was bad. As I said, quitting them after this season.
  3. No...
  4. Really sorry chaps, printer said I'm now too late for proofs anyway; they were supposed to phone me Saturday to check and didn't blah blah blah. Last minute dot com here fails again
  5. Got to get proofs to the printers for a Christmas present but they won't do "artwork"; need a simple off-white 1/2" border around 4 pics and I'm no good at this sort of thing! Can anyone help?
  6. Got a set of them for sale... Good tyres
  7. I may well have the parts for that; in as new condition - let me know if you're interested.
  8. Same; roof is Visqueen sheeting over stacked roundwood.
  9. + another 1 441 smooth but mushy. 461 the boy. 390 is a boat anchor.
  10. Being vat reg'd makes life easier not harder! IMO
  11. Holy thread resurrection! Will see to inbox
  12. Yeah and diesel isn't as dirty as everyone thinks either. I'd rather have PM10s than ultrafines thanks very much. Here we go again.
  13. Quite cool but surely ££££££££££££££££££££ ?! Beautiful way to work tho Perfect day in those conditions.
  14. Had exactly the same with International; red hot in summer, no pressure registering at 1500 rpm let alone tickover. Really need to take out the pressure switch and test with gauge if you can. I also used Lucas Oil Stabilizer but in this case it made no difference whatsoever; though I do believe it works in the majority of cases. Fearing the worst I changed the oil and just like that - problem solved. However, bear in mind that these old'uns were designed for sub 250 hour oil changes on SAE 30 oil and when 15W40 replaced this the O&F interval became 100 hours - very short and goes before you know it. Your oil shears down pretty rapidly thus. The pressure at the switch is static pressure so doesn't really give an indication of oil flow - most likely the thinned oil will be plentiful at the top end but not maintaining MOFT in big end bearings and crank journals so the oil change is recommended. Look for a 15W40 with the highest HTHS you can find and highest viscocity at 100 degrees possible. JD Plus 50-II would be a good start.
  15. Remember this!?
  16. Depends on cover £ ? £1k a year tops I'd have thought. I have fond memories of £1k/yr lol.
  17. Can only speak for some in the South West namely: 1) Radmore & Tucker, Exeter. 2) E Bucland & Sons, Tibberton, Glos. 3) Stroud Professional Mowers if they're still going? 4) Ron Smith, Worcester. 5) Forest & Arb. because of the PDI
  18. Maybe where you're to, but not down here. I did say "down here"
  19. ...I aint joking when I say the service from http://www.orionheating.co.uk/forestry-products/ is stellar way beyond the call of duty. Absolutely exemplary service both pre, during AND AFTER sales. :thumbup1:
  20. How long is this 2-gallon day?
  21. Quite; you either buy green roundwood or seasoned. FTR, no-one down here holds roundwood for longer than possible so there's no such thing as seasoned roundwood on a lorry. If there was, you'd except to pay atleast 50% more for it; for very obvious reasons.
