  1. Yep, decision made. Pick-up truck about the worst thing for commuting in as a tool carrier. New Skoda Yeti looks fab. For now, using a Focus estate diesel; flippin brilliant, saving so much fuel...
  2. And the rest. Oner minimum
  3. Canada; officially.
  4. agree to disagree. strongly
  5. RUBBISH! Reckon you bought a fake one. I used to mingle in the hedge cutting champs held in Painswick; about 85% echos, some S, H and Kawasaki.
  6. Echo. Best hedgecutters, period.
  7. Pricey - just a warning! Red Line Oils - Redline 2 Stroke Racing Oil | Redline 2 Cycle Racing Oil Based in Redruth.
  8. They're only well known in horticultural circles; completely unheard of in racers bikes, planes etc. Only POE based 2-stroke oils are anything close to RL, the four above are not POE, possibly not even PAO. Occasionally, a product from another industry can upset the apple cart in another. I tried RL vs Mobil Pegasus in Jenbacher JE20 gensets; as expected UOA was in RL's favour but price was not. It is not best to stick to a well known brand. Bang my head one more time.
  9. Amateur source that; for starters FB is a mineral base, FC and FD semi/full synth. This thread is becoming :banghead:
  10. you don't say
  11. Very brown red tis tho
  12. Sainsbury's Christmas advert 2014: Don't be cynical about Sainsbury's advert | Metro News It's a risk, but obviously with 20 years of the RBL's blessing.
  13. Some say it's disrespectful as a marketing ploy; I think they wanted to nod to the fallen; 50% going to the Royal British Legion.
  14. Pickup with tow rope, sorted. Never knowingly had anyone realise their motor was 30ft away from where they parked it lol. Not if left in gear tho. Even lifted a car with the forwarder once haha
  15. Here's some fun to play with: dataStack dataStack
  16. Are you stalking me?
  17. In addition to my obsession with MOFT, I forgot that HTHS ranks alongside it too.
  18. Eh?! The posts right above, did you read them?!
  19. Oop, there goes the garden fence! Wild here! Not cutting timber in this!
  20. Yeah but we couldn't be on the same team cos of the dolmar love / hate thing
  21. I did post grad in Diesel Exhaust Emissions at Plymouth, MSc Combustion & Emission Control at Leeds, IIE Mech Eng with Tribology and so on. Used to write for Diesel Car Magazine, spent 13 years in gas and oil business. Forgotten 90% of it now. Yea, sometimes I wonder WTF happened!
  22. Good post. I believe RL use PAO in the additive package in respect of hydroscopicity. Likewsie others use esters in the AP to add polarity. RLs straight grade race oils are pure POE whereas "street" oils have all the extras. Not a lot of top-fuel racing going on in the UK, Santa-Pod, hmm time I visited. I find that RL is incredible in CI engines, the hydro issue is obviously greater in SI applications.
  23. NOT AT ALL!! Blimey no! 95% of that on the market as "synthetic" is blended from Group 3 Basestock, itself derived from cracked group 2 in many cases. Up a level (group 4) is PAO which includes Mobil 1, AMS etc. Group 5 includes the esters and poly-ol esters. Only RL is 100% poly-ol. Motul is non polol ester, mixed with PAO as required.
