  1. Particularly with a rattly old capstan.
  2. I realized that this was the first time i have run the rigging on the ground in about 5 years. I have forgotten how much i enjoyed it.
  3. Spent the morning on the ground rigging for a change. Glorious sunny day, no power lines, phone lines, no houses, or greenhouses to miss, only a road to avoid, hence the rigging.
  4. The CAA will have a fit when someone starts flying one here. Flying chainsaws are not a good idea, particularly if you are a snowman.
  5. That fence will take 10 minutes to take apart and move out of the way. Drop the tree in one, which will be you safest option, and quickest. Any other option is just wasting your time, and putting you in UN-necessary risk.
  6. Some of the large timber must millable, particularly cherry and the unusual timbers. Why not hire in a large splitter to break down to processor size. I bought 30 tons of over size beech 3-4' dia, it was cut, split and stacked in 4 days.
  7. Three wheels on ma waggon, and i'm still rolling along.
  8. Was that the remains of the pine on Bevelin Lane ?
  9. You leave the strap or dogs tooth until last, so you have already cut through the fibers that might cause the the tree to split. It also enables you to change position to a slightly safer one.
  10. Evening Grant, Mike Plumb will probably be your best. M & J Plumb Tree Surgery Pembrokeshire
  11. You are a lucky man to have this orchard to play with. I have always rated Tom Put and Mere de Manage as better cookers. Although bramley if left on the tree until November often becomes much sweeter.
  12. I like the video of your Alstor being unloaded by the timber lorry.
  13. We as a nation voted the fools in, therefore it is only to be expected.
  14. Its making me moist just thinking about it. Ohh God:eek:
  15. Yeah baby yeah, come on get a video done.
  16. He deals in forestry machinery, and local
  17. Have you tried Terry Harrison in Cold Blow 01834 861523
  18. Best splash the cash on the waterproof ones then.
  19. These are cheaper ! Alubox PROFI 76L - Bags and Storage - Work No idea what they are like though
  20. Cheers for the replys, i am guessing that the consultant has grossly underestimated the amount of chip required. It is for two 60-250kw boilers to heat eight houses, and dry round wood for chip and logs.
  21. Does anyone burn wood chip; if so how much do you burn per month or year, and what size building are you heating. And approx what chip volume does a cubic meter of solid timber produce ? I have been asked to supply timber for chipping, and volume wanted seems very low, hence the questions
  22. I can not believe that nobody has not picked up on the most remarkable thing, A chainsaw operating without a human???
