  1. Going to contact tp direct to see if they just sell outer housing, but tp dealer here could only do whole shaft assembly :-(
  2. Hi Chris, these any help? Six spline, but bigger than sparex do.
  3. Hi all, I have an old tp860 pto chipper and two weeks ago the universal joint on the clutch end of the pto sheared off. Can't seem to buy just the clutch assembly for the pto, and the whole pto shaft assembly is going to be over a grand from tp deaker. Any ideas as the machine is not really worth spending this much on, or does any one have an 8-10 inch pto machine for sale? Many thanks Peter
  4. Another vote for the jcb 526. We have a 1996 one with a 2m3 bucket, doesn't take too long to fill an artic with woodchip and has proved very reliable touch wood. However very slow on the road and I gather lots of towing doesn't do transmission any favours. We use a tractor for all our towing work. Great bit of kit to have in the yard, will find yourself wondering how you managed with out it
  5. That's up there on the stunt fells, no room for error at all, bet you breathed a sigh of relief when it was down! Well done
  6. Thanks guys for the replies, good info, will see what the customer says today.
  7. Hi all, taking down a large red oak tomorrow with a clean straight stem to around 20 foot, about 3 foot diameter. Is the timber as good outside as English oak, as whole tree is being cut up for firewood for customer. Wondering about milling main stem as an option with my alaskan for a project at the yard. Cheers
  8. I find the following glasses very comfortable under ear defenders, thin and soft arms so don't dig in https://www.frjonesandson.co.uk/products-page/pfanner/clothing-accessories/pfanner-nexus-safety-glasses/
  9. Second day of woodland job clearing windblow, with a quick emergency job to start. Lots of fun winching some big beech from the edge of an old chalk pit, and bacon sarnie for lunch, all good
  10. Starting a small contract clearing windblow on a local estates woodland, all going great until the uj blew up on the chipper pto shaft :-( still was a lovely autumn day for it
  11. Or failing that call them tomorrow, always been very helpful with our machines
  12. Cheers, done
  13. Country compost limited in Harefield are much cheaper than £100 / tonne, can't remember exactly what as they now collect from us on a roro skip, but they have a weighbridge at yard. 01895 622420 Crows Nest Farm, Breakspear Road South Hatefield, Uxbridge Ub9 6lt
  14. Thanks for this, it was 20 miles, mainly motorway but don't know if he was in traffic or not. I got it 6 months old from an independent garage, have not been loyal to ford dealer that did the recall work as they were useless. Now just got to decide whether to go back to them and see if they will do anything, or just go to my other local ford dealership and pay for the work
  15. Hi all, I have a 2013 Ford Ranger T6 with the 2.2 engine. It went in for a recall issue 2 years ago and the main dealer was useless, to cut a long story short they eventually dropped it back having sorted the few simple issues and were meant to bring it on a truck. However they drove it back the 20 miles to mine. Unfortunately they guy who drove it had it in 4wd the whole way. The dealership assured me no damage done and it would be fine. However two years later and another 15,000 miles it has been out of warranty a month, and yesterday started leaking oil out of the transfer box. My local mechanic recons it is the rear seal on the transfer box but ford have advised him there is a special puller needed to remove the old seal between the box and rear drive shaft that only main dealers have. Does any one know if the trip in 4wd could have damaged they seal through overheating - just want an idea before I call the original ford garage tomorrow, as they will obviously say no.Truck does very little towing other than small chipper sometimes , and little off road work. Many thanks. Peter
  16. Thank you Richard and Bob, will try these guys on Monday. Peter
  17. I own a 2007 technorton compact 300 saw bench that has not been used much since I brought it. It has a 30 inch, 54 tooth general purpose blade and can take a 60 inch tungsten tipped one. Can anyone recommend where near to get this sharpened, and is it worth getting the tungsten tipped blade. We are based near Watford Hertfordshire and use it for processing domestic arb waste, so do come across nails etc. Just think this would be quicker in small timber than the chainsaw. Many thanks. Peter
  18. Would be wary, we were niave and put one cordaline through out timberwolf 150 a few years ago, it wrapped round bearings which then overheated and melted the following day, very expensive lesson. Don't risk it now!
  19. Can you get a photo of seat setup, is that something farma supply? Cheers
  20. Pm sent. Peter
  21. Beech we dismantled canopy and upper stem then felled using grcs and wedges as backwoods leaner
  22. Sorry based in Chesham, Buckinghamshire
  23. My groundsman runs his own gardening and grounds maintenance business with two people working for him. One chap is leaving and he now needs someone full time (on a self employed basis) who is capable of working on their own and as part of a team. Nearly all work is domestic gardens, with a few small blocks of flats and other small commercial contacts. Must be reliable, honest and be able to communicate well with customers. All tools and van provided, but must be over 25 for insurance. Please contact him directly on [email protected]
  24. Just to be clear it wasn't me, we took the photo as we drove past!
  25. Not arb but couldn't resist getting the wife to take a pic whilst we were heading up the m1 today, full of people, luggage and the bike to finish, the tow bar was literally an inch above the tarmac!
