  1. Spill the beans John, or we'll have to assume you were trying to buy something you are embarassed about. Like a lifetime's supply of penis enlargement tablets. Or a top handled Husky!
  2. Venison gravy - mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
  3. Can you not build one in your workshop? I could send you up an old strip light and a fish tank to get you started.
  4. Great pics Steve. Anyone got any more from the pre-digital era?
  5. That looked like a set up. Bit of a weird one though.
  6. As I've said to Ross, we can get some kind of swap shop going on? Big Lukey heading out in September. Will make sure he has a selection of bits with him. Customs might not believe he's a climber when they see him though...
  7. AP failed at 2.8 tonnes and we still can't buy it over here? AP that had been used in a hitch for 5 months? It's madness I say, utter madness! That first test is a good gee-up to your splicing skills Drew. Nice one.
  8. Ebay seems responsible for a lot of s**t going down at the minute. What happened mate?
  9. Never going to happen. The technology is here already, but to implement it would embarrass too many judges, MP's and off duty feds! Nowt wrong with Gatso's near schools etc., but too many have blatantly been situated to generate revenue which is wrong IMO.
  10. Great work mate. Where was it? That crane looks mighty handy. Would have to hire you with it as well big lad, 'cos I've only seen one crane job before. Did it help shift the timber as well? Skyhuck - is that similar to your crane? I'm impressed by the lifting capacity of these things.

  12. Tidy tidy tidy Joe. Did you fell that head out or go for a crazy bucking lowering ride?! Nice work mate. And I bet you enjoyed it. If you'd knocked it over in one you would have been snedding and dragging all day!
  13. I think it's brilliant the way we look for new stuff all the time. I think it's called innovation? However, this is an idea that didn't work. IMO.
  14. Why do you old guard hate pegs so much? I find them really useful for hanging gear on and puncturing my ribcage and frothing blood from my mouth now and again....
  15. Only kidding! Come down a bit, big shove off with the legs, big swing and get ready for the vice-like monkey grip on the target tree. Make sure your strop is pre-adjusted to the length required for one handed tie in. Did it yesterday with the client (who I hadn't seen) watching. He was dead impressed with that move, kept ranting on about it and calling me Tarzan! Even got a tip! If the trees are too widely spaced though it's too much of a faff to bother with IMO.
  16. Come down. Climb the next tree. It's quicker...
  17. Can of builder's expandable foam. Easier to carry up the tree. Concrete? Steel bars? We have progressed you two. Shame on you...
  18. Pass your test first mate, worry about the other stuff later! Good luck!
  19. For Christ's sake Drew don't get him on the beers when you're splicing. You wouldn't want to be hanging off that eye!
  20. From what I've seen John you have no serious competition on there. I think when you win you may have to change your name to something more suitable though. Blaze Scorchio?
  21. My Grandma has a dead one for me to take down, approx 8" dia butt. Worth keeping then? Castle Donnington, Derbs. - bit of a hike for me! So if anyone wants the job they can 'do it for the wood'! Small job, commercially about £120.
  22. Mark Bolam

    Ricochet

Does that qualify as lucky or unlucky? I can't decide.
  23. No mate. 2nd job is OK provided they don't try and screw the Tax Man, don't turn up knackered for their brigade work and don't do anything that would be bad for the brigade's image - like using their uniforms for stripping etc. I don't make them do that very often though...!
  24. Don't know where you got that info mate, but it is inaccurate to say the least.
  25. You've got some as well mate! Are they the long haired ones?
