  1. We're 'honing' them Mick. Core protection going very well for me at the minute. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  2. I remember Jesse Colemans vid from a few months back where they had pre-slung (heli-lift, not crane), then had to work like madmen to readjust because of the weight. Job went sweet though. The vid is on here somewhere. I've grounded on some big crane jobs, and it's amazing how quickly you can make a big tree disappear with the right kit, a decent crew and a good operator. Some picks worth a mornings work were layed down, slings/chains left on, sned out, and timber lifted straight into a trailer, literally within minutes. Ben it's quite commendable that you're having a trial run on an 'easy' tree. It will stand you in good stead in the future, I'm sure. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  3. Don you could have guns mounted to the front bumper of yours and shoot planes down when you're full of chip. Kidding! That Hilux must have a payload of a tonne, so I don't see how a box full of chip will be an issue. Probably the opposite, my DC Navara was pretty arse-end twitchy when empty, much better with a bit of weight in.
  4. Really good idea Ben, I remember when James Hoddy joined Reg for a crane job for a day prior to doing his own first crane job. I have some experience of knocking off dirty lumps of crack willow tied to telehandler forks with ratchet straps if that helps?
  5. You're not having an easy day are you Ben?
  6. Target-rich environment there Glen, that one will need watching closely.
  7. Cunning way for the insurance co. to take your money and have a ready made excuse never to pay out on a claim. Haha - we foiled their heinous scheme! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. Understood. The MOD are definitely into cost saving these days. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. Is that back at Otterburn? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  10. My mate is in USAR and has chainsaw training, and freely admits that they will never have the skill or experience that people who do it for a living will have.
  11. Too bad you don't climb single line Steve.
  12. When did you do that clip for them in the vid Steve?
  13. Result! Thieving tinker bastards though. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. Haha, good luck with it mate, should be a really good opportunity for them. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. The reduction in the background didn't go too well then John? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. Looks the dogs that Rhys. Just need to find a decent climber and you'll be away! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  17. It's a bastard Eggs, my mam suffers, so I know it's much more complex than the 'man up' ethos I was bought up with. When you feel down, focus on a future event like coming to Cutters in April. That will make you happy. Then think about sharing a 2-man tent with me and Joe Newton. Carry that thought in your mind. I bet your cheeky little grin has started already, hasn't it? 18. That's bull. They only weigh just over a tonne. The limiting factor is the overload on the Transit itself. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. I'd just go to court. It will be a right laugh. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. Yes, we can all learn from this Alex. Thank you for posting. You're a very honest man. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  22. Possible Bob, of course, but they seem particularly also to be a favourite target of pik.., sorry, thieves down here. Selina Masson from the Shooting Times had her Cocker nicked a few years back. Recovered two years later, healthy but really fat! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
