    Hy Crack

Morning all, im after a Hy crack splitter or any cone type splitter to go behind the tractor, nowt on flebay just wondered if any members on here have one for sale, not to bothered about condition as long as its a runner. Oh and if you do let me know a price, us yorkshire lads have short arms and deep pockets!
  3. Spot on, get on ya bike to sunny yorkshire mate, you can come and cook my chriggy dinner, works work mate.................
  4. Really sorry to hear Dave, as you know iv had my fair share, touch wood not for a while though but i dont take any chances now, steel cabinets all belled up night and day and a dog that would lick em to death:blushing: Hope you have a good exmas Dave and this dont get you down.
  5. Made something simular out of an old black dustbin, cut in half lenthways, cut bottom off the carve round edges and slide on bag, works a treat. and it was cheap (i like cheap)
  6. Stevie, we use a plastic dustbin cut in half lenth ways with the bottom edges rounded over, insert in bag when empty and start filling when nearly ful pull out and top up. we did 100 in about 5 hours, 1 man on it while i buggered off to do something more exiting lol.
  7. Any climber want a couple of days work in the Garforth area this coming thursday and Friday? steady away climbing doing a reduction/crown lift and taking some ivy down. Ta Ian
  8. Thats all there good for:001_tt2: Sorry to derail this thread bythe way Jon.

  10. Moved a 2 day job to next week mate as the little one was ill yesterday and have to go see some work later thats why im tossin it off, busy tomorrow and friday knocking a big sycamore down. why you at home though?
  11. touche Jonny touche.................
  12. Cant see the big issue to be honest with people doing it part time, they cant compete with regular firms, most dont have the knowledge or machinery to do bigger jobs and they can only work days off, it's only the same as me getting a burger van and going floggin burgers on a weekend in a layby, loades of people have part time jobs, no big deal. Woodpicker has a second job, he floggs his arse on street corners on a weekend:lol:
  13. That will be Bardsey tree services then, he has been going since the early 90s so has had a fair crack of the whip work wise with the site clearance work. also having a few wagons on the road means when things get tight its harder to cover costs, i come up agains them quite a lot and beat them on price 9 times out of 10 only because my overheads are lower. A good firm with a good reputation. Like ME.
  14. Aspect is a good firm, heard they were struggling a bit this year, dont know how true that is, its alright having all the flash kit Jim but you need lots of work to run it! also aspect forestry is backed up by Aspect utilities, a bigger firm down south, so they dont have to make masses of money on the arb side. nice blokes though.
  15. Aberdord, he hires the chipper, trying to think whats he called, some thing like .....premiere tree and garden care. green landy with ally back. I have meet him, seem ok to be honest, no threat to me, i do alot of work on his doorstep!!!!!
  16. theres 1 near me, paramedic i think he is, got a landy tipper and a few saws. I aint bothered to be honest, he aint go the inferstructure to be able to take bigger jobs on, no chipper, grinder etc etc. Used to pee me off but i couldnt give a toss now, if there cheap they wont last long and will never get any further as they wont make any money to do so. Thats life.
  17. Cool vid, goes to show how things are done diffently in differant parts of the world, i guess most of us wouldnt just "bounce" down big pieces of wood down from that hight over here, we would be lowering it and chogging the stem down, over there it's crash and bash and go home, nice when ya can do that. SWB would love it ........Crash.....Crash......crashty, Crash.
  18. You really need to speak to Skyhuck, he's an expert on chainsaw boots.
  19. Ih yes, i had fish pie last night.
  20. Leave it alone, its an old nail and a bag of trouble. I am always weary of machinery that has been "modded" usually spells trouble unless professionally done.
  21. Your about up to the max really IMO you could try a 25" but it would have to be sharp, i run a 440 with a 20" and wouldnt really want to go much bigger, i like having the power of a shorter bar.
  22. Very good of Pete B and greenmech for chucking a new chipper and shirt into the pot!
  23. some top draw suff there steve, looks like it's going to be an expensive raffle for me:001_smile: Even if i win nowt it will be nice to know i have helped some young kid somewhere.
  24. i took a deep breath for a min, thinking tommer was going to tell us something he shouldnt be. you will bet locked up chasing bullocks round at that time of morning..........
