  1. Well I am not one for more regulation but as an industry we are relatively unencumbered (compared to some) by regulation. What regulation we do have often gets ignored by anyone that can get away with because compliance is largely self regulating I don't know what more attention the situation warrants, the powers that be will do what they will. If they think more regulation is needed they will inflict it on us no matter what, and chances are they will be aided and abetted by industry figures.
  2. It might seem that way if you compare it with a processor but for arb waste that cones out of a garden in rings its a good system

Looks like the spam came from here Tree Trimming in San Ramon & Walnut Creek | Treeys.com Perhaps members would like to email the spammer direct about this?? [email protected]

    Tree Pruning

This sort of spam is priceless, its often (as in this case) text ripped at random from a site by someone with no industry knowledge, tasked with making a web counter spin.
  5. I am going to guess that its because a lot of contractors don't want more regulation and many actually resent what's already on place considering it an unnecessary hoop to jump through.

Thinning is a waste of time because the pesky tree trees just grow back. Best just to cut as many down as you can, that way you get paid for the work and you get to sell it as firewood. Best of all is, they grow new all by themselves so there will always be plenty of them to cut down in the future. Felling is also better because its way more macho than titting about with a girly hand saw, what you need is a big chainsaw and a bigger pair of balls Discuss.........
  7. I recon its not full yet:laugh1:
  8. Probably some fool gobbing off to impress his cohorts
  9. Had a neighbour demand my contact details because they were going out and in case they found any damage when they got around to checking the garden. Quite an insult from my point of view:laugh1:
  10. Commonly called Chestnut scale but not limited to Aesculus, it likes Tillia as well https://www.rhs.org.uk/Advice/profile?PID=650
  11. Opinions are like armpits and the world is full of keyboard warriors, many of whom are just full of it. Beware placing too much weight on the options such experts. Simple fact is you know it wasn't the best work ever but you also recognise that there were issues to address. Maybe next time get someone experienced to talk you through it:thumbup:
  12. Big brother on what?
  13. Ha ha A handful of posts in and you go on the offensive against one of the forums senior and respected contributors. Take a chill pill dude, you might not like the answer you get but what you get is what you get
  14. The HSE only has powers over business, they have no remit to deal with anything not workplace related
  15. It is weakened but not enough to cause problems and from a fall arrest point of view, staying on a top rope system improves things considerably
  16. Impossible It would mean legislation to retrospectively control the sale import and use of saws and you would need to control the use of sooo many existing saws, the logistics would be horrendous. Saws aren't that dangerous, certainly not dangerous enough for that kind of "big brother" control.
  17. They make a fan mask for the aitsoft/paontball gang
  18. An embossing press of some sort Nice find
  19. Depends how good you are and by that I mean how quick you can work without going "Wreck-It Ralph" Plenty of climbers out there from top of the line to no hopers On a scale of 1-10 how do you recon you rate? (1 bad 10 good) The acid test is to put your prices up and see if your clients will pay it:thumbup:
  20. And this advice was sold to you by the man that sells insurance policies????
  21. Invoice to go suite gets my vote, been using it for a couple of years now. It is the muts nuts. Works on cell, tablet or PC on all platforms, click a button it adds up all the figure you need and even sorts your receipts if you need it to.
  22. Didn't spot the plugs, nice one
  23. Hmmmmm That might be true for a private individual but,,,,,, The HSE is under the impression that we owe a duty of care to everyone, including ourselves Discuss,,,,,,,,
  24. Good enough, tree gone and no one hurt. Be worth investing in some hearing protection though, cheap as chips and definitely worth having around the saw,,,,,,,pardon?
  25. Why are you even contemplating this? Quote or implement the works on the consent and be done with it or appeal the consent. Are the residents going to be happy with anything less than felling? probably not. The tree was there before the development so any current issues can be clearly traced back to the planning process, if you feel the need to do something, rattle the cages of whoever signed off on the planning
