  1. Make a jib to fit over your standard forks ie 2 bits of box section to slot the forks thru then a rsj or similar protruding forwards from the centre a few foot
  2. I'll swap you my 8 ton tipping trailer with demountable 3pt linkage timber crane on the draw bar if your interested!
  3. Ha ha ha I know!!! Just think of the limited edition interior coming out to make way for the roll cage and buckets! V dub purists would cry!!
  4. I had on of the mk1 golf gti campaign models, dropped a reworked 2.2 litre Audi engine into it, g60 brakes, koni coilover suspension and bbs split rim alloys. Was known locally as the "scud" as it went like a missile!
  5. Where abouts is it? What's the access like?
  6. How quick does the valtra go? Does the trailer do it at all speeds?
  7. Have you tried altering tyre pressures on tractor to see if it cures it? How worn is the hook on the pickup hitch?
  8. every now and then mine does it, usually when i pull away without max air pressure. i just stop and sit with it in neutral and flick the lever side to side til you can hear the hiss of the ram.
  9. low air pressure perhaps? does the ram hiss when you flick the lever sideways between ranges?
  10. wasnt that top link you fed through your chipper was it!! what ever it was you must of hit that hard as mine seem to survive track clips / pins and the usual assorted stuff that gets thrown onto embankments!
  11. i run a couple of stihl fs480 with the twin blade mulching head, gets abused to hell doing rail and site clearance and cant fault it. regularly takes hitting big immovable stuff thats been chucked off the line and into the undergrowth in its stride and would happily buy another. The twin mulcher blade works god as the blade twists down at the ends so you can effectively drop it onto the undergrowth to mulch it.
  12. We were in a 30 or so acre yard with hardcore floor and that's how we did it when loading either the boats at the dock or the 10 or so artics that came in daily
  13. Just leave a foot or so on the ground when loading, don't run your bucket along the floor and you will be ok. But if you have turned it a few times chances are you will have contaminated it.
  14. Oh yeah it would be slow but it would do it. When I used to work away from home with machinery we would take tools to run from the tractors own air supply like grinders, windy guns etc. I think the 3 tanks on my mog work out about 75 litres so it don't take long to empty them with tools that have high air consumption but it's an option.
  15. Can't you run a windy gun off the mogs own air supply?
  16. Post knockers on diggers are good because of the reach aspect over ditches etc but I do find they struggle with strainers in hard ground. I don't use strainers less than 7" in diameter so the lighter weight machines take longer to get posts to depth. We converted a normal masted knocker that went on the 3pt linkage to use on a digger which we use for tight access jobs on a 2.6 or 5 ton machine. When I was fencing vineyards in Australia we had a 32 ton cat 360 with a compaction plate on the end for putting in the tall vine posts and strainers, that was fantastic as you could reach 6 rows of posts at a time just by slewing.
  17. this is my set up for stock and post and rail.
  18. i forgot that prac browns did biomass, who do i speak to about it there? alastair??
  19. Looking to offload a few artic loads of chip coming off a job and noticed that the ahs energy website now directs you to stobart biomass site. Does anyone know I'd they are running out of ahs's old premises as they were fairly local to me. Alternatively does anyone else know of any woodchip buyers in the south east? Cheers
  20. Marooka??? That's the usual one that gets converted. I agree 100% that they do go places and generally don't make too much mess unless your turning. Whether it be beaver tail or a low loader It wants to be pretty low otherwise you end up wiping out wires and branches wherever you go!!
  21. I looked into converting a big tracked dumper into a fencing machine but you still need a tractor and low loader to get it on sites. I work all over the south east so my set up works well as I can easily carry a few hundred meters worth of fencing plus tools and a passenger with ease.
  22. Yep, square sawn post and rail and half round too. Can be a sod to knock accurate if the ground is bad as posts want to twist so you have to be on the ball with the post holder. I got the biggest king hitter available, 300 kg weight and 12ft mast. Puts in most things!! That's mounted on front linkage of a mog, then carry materials and tools in the rear body with a quickfencer on the rear linkage. 2 passes along a line and it's up
  23. I do a decent amount each year, generally 15,000 meters of stock/post and rail as well as a few thousand meters of domestic or commercial as well. Lots of competition for smaller scale work due to out of work builders and handymen etc.
