  1. I have a couple of the large Knaack boxes 72" One is on the back of a tipper the other is in the workshop. Extremley well built strong chests, only critisism is the one that lives outside has gone rusty at any point it has got scraped. Not a major concern, but does look abit tatty after a few years. There are a couple on ebay at the moment.

    Jcb 403

Added into classifieds today. Low hours ( 200 ) almost as new. Just been used as a yard machine.
  3. The early new shape hilux's late 05 plate onwards where the 102 bhp, If the vehicle has an air intake vent/scoop on the top of the bonnet it will be the updated 120 bhp engine which was introduced 07 i think. The latest variant of the 2.5 is 144 bhp, it is simply the 120 engine with a remapped output. You can do this to the 120 engine for roughly £400.00 if you want the extra oomph. Mpg is better with the higher output, and is noticable when towing. Hope this helps.
  4. Here you go: ALS Sports Turf, Landscape and Amenity Maintenance Supplies and Products, UK
  5. Just found it on their website. Not going to be big enough I think. But worth knowing about for future ref. Ben Burgess & Co. - Tree Spade Hire
  6. Andy, Ben Burgess Plant Hire at Norwich have an Optimo spade for hire that goes on a Telehandler, they rent these aswell:001_smile: Possibly be quite expensive for a one off job, but worth a call.
  7. I am in the process of buying a Hilux, searching on the web found me this: 6X6 < Toyota < Brands < Arctic Trucks Very tempting:001_smile:
  8. Theocus, I have used Deutsche Leasing for several purchases over the last few years. very competitive and easy to work with. Only prob is you need to be a Ltd co as they will not deal with sole traders for some reason.
  9. David, We use the following nurseries for high volumes of whips: Maelor Forest Nurseries Welcome To James Coles Nurseries Oakover Nurseries - growers of quality trees, shrubs and conifers i would think for that volume you will be looking at about £0.18 - £0.20 each
  10. I have a short term position available for a general labourer. Work involves Turfing, Planting, and Paving. The work is physically demanding, and I require someone with a good work ethic and high standards. Hours are 7.00 am to 5 p.m. We are based near Oundle, Northamptonshire. Approx 4 weeks work available at the moment, but could increase. Ideal position for someone looking to earn some funds whilst looking for more tree related work. P.M. me with your details.
  11. This is what I need to do more often!
  12. I am currently switching business account to the Co-operative. As nobody is paying any interest I thought being a member of the co-op will give me some benefits ( you become a partner and recieve a yearly dividend) , plus they are a very ethical bank with a very stable reputation.
  13. Same as any job really mate, work out how many you can do per day, then divide what you want to earn per day by the number of trees. Then account for any associated costs such as plant hire, stakes, ties, fertilizer, watering etc This will give you a total per tree. If it was me i would rent an auger and drill all the holes, makes for easy backfilling with nice crumbled soil. We have a 3ft auger on a vermeer mini skid, easily drills 200 + holes a day. Seems strange to be planting so many large spruce, and especially at this time of year, can you get access to water? Good Luck with the pricing.
  14. Steve, Toyota's love racking up the miles mate. My 99 hilux just rolled over 220,000 I bought it six years ago with 60,000 on it. Serviced every 10,000 by myself. 1 clutch, 1 battery, timing belt and tyres is all it has had done. And It has towed an ifor trailer for at least 50,000 of those miles.
  15. All those Gunnera's will look stunning in a few months time.
  16. I have one in the garden, not as far advanced as those yet but it got a serious frosting the other night, all the new leaves have shrivelled. Its such a shame it looks a right mess at the moment.
  17. Seems abit steep mate. We do quite alot of closeboard commercial contracts for building companies and are lucky to get £30 per m. A one off domestic job would cost more but I would get a few alternative quotes first. Materials would be costing about £12 - £15 per m
  18. Dig a big hole stick in a piece of steel rsg with a hole burnt in it backfill with concrete. Reverse trailer over it and chain axles to the steel and lock. Its a pain crawling under the trailer but makes it difficult to cut. Just remember to unlock befor you hitch up and drive off.
  19. We have seen quite abit of frost damage on eucs locally. Some of my nursery stock of nitens and gunni has seen major tip damage from the frosts we had over winter.
  20. Stevie, as most have mentioned protein is good, its slow burning which avoids the highs and lows of fueling yourself on carbs ( sugars ) good fats are also important for a balanced diet. In winter I eat rolled oats, protein powder, pumkin seeds and flax and an oil supplement for breakfast, I also make cookies out of the same mix for when I am running late. Then make sure most meals contain some protein. Avoid sugary drinks, sweets etc. all the stuff that has no real food value. Easiest thing is to stick to foods that you can tell what they are made of and are not highly processed, if you read the label and don't know what some of the ingredients are, or worse cannot even pronounce the name, do you really want to be putting it in your body. A good diet does wonders for your performance and mood, eating right will overcome mood swings and drops in energy and help you to be more balanced mentally and physically. It amazes me how many lads fuel there bodies on redbull, chocolate and crisps and then moan that they are knackered all the time.
  21. Dean, As a landowner you can "mine" your land for your own use i.e. to extract stone for improving roadways etc. I believe that this can be done without planning aslong as no material leaves your property. Worth looking into, as you could say the stone you are extracting is to create a logdeck for extraction.
  22. Stevie, I have used these guys a few times , always cheapest and next day delivery. http://www.cautrac.com/userdocs/RUBBER%20TRACK%20ADVERT.pdf
  23. The arbowear hoodies are great, hood fits over helmet easily. Got mine in the US, but Honey Brothers stock them here.
  24. We have used this method to stop undercutting on river banks. Willow Bundles weighed down with rocks and anchored to the river bed and banks, cover with soil and wait for regrowth of willow. The willow ends trap sediment by slowing down the current and help to rebuild the bank.http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=28898&stc=1&d=1265096094http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=28897&stc=1&d=1265096094
  25. Blaisey, Post hole borer is good investment for a mini skid, we have augers up to 36", great for treeplanting etc. We even drill bases for mobile homes/classrooms etc. with it. Good additional income.
