    No. Because they asked if they could be cut lower if pos. They knew what the quote was (4"). But asking is ok. It's if there is an uncertainty. I would cut them lower, no probs. Feel slightly miffed if they were 5ft across. Perhaps ask for a cup of tea and a biscuit for doing it

    Ring him in the night and tell him there's an emergency in a far off village and tell him you'll meet him there. Tell him he will need all his kit. Meet at 3am. Don't turn up and switch phone off until you get up. Well done for finding out tho. Every now and then you need a bit of luck

    Conservatory was an extreme example. But it just be down to cutting a stump To 1" above ground level. You do it. Finish the job PAck your kit up Ready to go Customer comes out and say I thought you were gonna cut that down to ground level !! You say no we said 1" above ground level. They don't agree Unhappy customer You have no back up Get all your kit off and cut and clear up. This did happen to me when I first started out and no written quote. You want the customer to be happy So you get repeat work. As I said before, each to their own, but don't take the other example too seriously, as it was probably a fictitious example
