  2. Carved these for one of the follies at work which is currently being restored, it’s not finished yet but put the shells in yesterday. There carved from a Yew that blew down not far from the cottage. It’s called shell cottage because the interior walls were slowly covered in shells by many generations of the family.   7. Got similar bleeding lesions on a mature Beech, were an Ramorum infected site so fera tested a bark sample from it, and a number of other large Beech all came back negative for phytophthora. The tree is also host to Kretz, Merip, and found some armillaria rhizomorphs near the buttresses.

  11. maybe a bacterial or fungal infection causing the blue stain, possibly linked with previous pruning wounds.
