  1. Great milling, looks like you've got some quality stuff going in

Hosted on the underside of a felled Beech top these tiny orange strands took some time to id, not in any book ive got so trawled the web and ended up back here, what a fine resource this site is . Seems like its Libertella faginea the asexual state of an ascomycete fungus. The top and sides of the stem had Nectria coccinea present. The remaining stem with some infestation of beech scale insect Cryptococcus fagisuga.

    Not at all, its a thread for all APF pics. Nice pics armchairarborist The guy carving is Tommytreecarver off here, the attachment is like a planer, kind of cut out big chisel like gouges. Cant wait to see the finished piece.

  8. Great set particularly like the 4th & 5th Lycoperdon Perlatum, and Piptoporus betulinus i think.
  9. well spotted it is two race cars carved into the felled trunk to created a bench, think its a Tim Burgess carving. Ok one more then, and one to redeem the balance

  12. Went to Oulton Park last weekend to watch my little bro in his first race. They’ve got some great trees, particularly liked this row of Sweet Chestnuts and regenerating Lime stump. Two random motorsport pics Also some of my little bro finished 11th out of 16 and second in his class so really good for a first race

    Pic’s from 3/9/10 Had another look and took a slice out of the forming lip/shelf. It had a tough corky texture with quite a srtrong mushroomy smell, the outer white layer bruised browny yellow.
