  1. Quality carvings, your logo is my favourite too
  2. I think NPTC tickets are too easy and like a previous analogy are similar to a driving test, allows you to drive a car but doesn’t necessarily teach you how to drive.
  3. Think its Boletus chrysenteron, found near Q. robur [ame] [/ame]
  4. Just given these some more space from competing sycamores
  5. Happy birthday Arbtalk Top job Mr. B
  6. Ive used Oak, Beech, Larch and Sycamore all seem nice in their own way but its all readily available to me, try contacting some local tree surgeons and estates. For sanding i just use a grinder with sanding disc, and then treat them with Danish or teak oil.
  7. Keen to try some aspen fuel, we cut our Yew maze every year and i always dread doing it. Usually takes three of about a week to do and we all suffer badly from the fumes lingering down the narrow paths. We've got three ageing sthil hs 45 hedge cutters which have always run on regular fuel and oil; i would like to try these on aspen for this job but am concerned about using it in older machines, do you think they will happily convert to running on aspen for this job?
  8. I posted some pics earlier in the thread of this Beech with Gannoderma and cracking to the main stem. Xsection through bracket and stump Also had another Beech taken down which had Merip & Kretz, any one know what the black tarry looking spots are.
  9. Great detail as always, got a black lab myself and it looks just right
