  1. Nice find not sure its UK tho
  2. That’s an awesome tree Tony No plans to do anything yet, it looked a bit chlorotic last year so just wait and see what happens this year. A staged retrenchment would be nice, ill certainly try and conserve it for as long as possible.
  3. Cheers Dave. Nice pics, the adventitious roots are cool Never seen any Meripilus about that area. Read in Bob Watson's book that the lesions/cankers could be assosiated with Kretz and maybe also the reddish bleeding canker?
  4. Cheers misterTee, nice bit of tandem decay going on.
  5. Cheers Gareth, ive thought about it and maybe i should try n get one on demo to see what its like, i just can't image it could do the same im my situation as the quad did.
  6. Been watching this Beech closely since last may when I first noticed it was host to K. deusta, last May there were only two patches showing and a few minor bacterial cankers (vid). This year K. deusta seems to be more prevalent with the addition of some type of bacterial ooze, and quite an impressive bleeding canker. 1&2 Emerging immature fruiting bodies 3,4&5 K. deusta, and possibly some bacterial ooze 6. Mature fruiting body of K. deusta 7&8 Bleeding canker on opposite side of trunk 9. Bleeding canker and cracking on compression side buttress 10. Whole tree Video from last may showing K. deusta, target and the tree [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsCHVclgPlA]YouTube - Kretzschmaria deusta on large Beech[/ame]

  10. I found this a good read Trees-Their Use, Management, Cultivation and Biology by Bob Watson
  11. Yeah Andy the next one will defiantly have a loud alarm, and ideally a tracker so they can be hunted down. Got a tracker fitted to my landy after i rebuilt it in case that gets nicked. Cheers Theocus ive looked at other brands but really want to sick to Honda, know my way around them and can get parts easily close by. Garage security isnt really an issue more when im out and about think i will also buy/make some type of wheel clamp for it.
  12. Cheers Andy, from what ive read a 350 should be capable for my needs, just wanted some other opinions/thoughts Feel bad about posting:blushing: but had to express my feelings about the theft, really upset me. It was stolen from the side of my house at lunch time, i was sat out the back, attached was a trailer with 4 saws, blower, strimmer. They unhooked the trailer and pushed the quad off. Got two dogs and not even a slight woof of trouble, went round and quad was gone trailer and tools still there, metal bar and chain left on their exit route, kind of glad i dint see them cos either i would have got battered or i may have gone for the rifle.
  13. Had our quad a Honda Foreman ES 450cc nicked by some thieving toe rag two and a bit years ago and my knees & back are saying its time for another. Would like the same again but not seen that many about got about £3k to spend, been thinking of down sizing to a Honda TRX 350 4 wheel drive. Read the other quad threads and was just wondering what peoples opinions are on them and how they compare with each other. It will be used on an estate for all sorts of stuff, general transport, moving fire wood, extracting wood n such like. My old beloved Honda foreman es To the t**** who nicked it I hope you crashed and are paralyzed from the neck down Sorry for the potentially bad language mods delete if necessary, just needed to vent my anger.
