    Wet Walk

    Horrible wet and fogy day here yesterday so went on a soggy walk round the old deer park
  2. Whent on Mike Ellison's VTA course last year, thought it was great

  4. As it looked in May last year Andrew warming up for work, to cold for lunges. 4/1/10 As it looked today, still some tidying to do and the path when it thaws.

    Wintery pics

    Lucombe Oak still holding on to its leaves. Cross between Q. cerris and Q. suber . Never seen this before the river Dean almost frozen over Icicles after some snow/ice clearing this morning Had to stop twice due to fuel waxing.

  10. Part of the estate called the Wilderness; it’s about 40 acres which adjoin the main formal gardens. It’s not good up here Littletree, lots of heavy loading on the branches. Hopefully it won’t be too bad for you. Good luck with the CS38 Yes, the top blew out about 4 years ago, and the two lateral branches deteriorated so we cut them back 2 years ago.

  16. Great thread Sean Our biggest Silver Birch 10’ 2” CBH Very similar is the Downy birch (Betula pubescens) the leaves are rounder, with hairier stems and leaf stalks.
