  7. Nice carving Bob My other half sells some of my carvings at local farmers markets, the one thing ive noticed is the more detailed / more expensive carvings don't sell as well / quickly as mushrooms, don't know why but im constantly having to do mushrooms. Pricing stuff is tricky, i just carve for fun, so as long as i get my costs back and a small profit im happy so sorry i cant help you with that perfect price.
  8. Can anyone help me find info on the decay Strategy of Inonotus hispidus in relation to Quercus cerris. The reason for asking is, i came across a monster bracket fruiting at about 20’ on a reasonably healthy looking mature 65’ Q, cerris which leans about 10 degree towards a road. A previous vta suggested that the tree has some audible signs of hollowing to the lower trunk, but never seen any fb’s on it. I know that I. hispidus causes a Simultaneous white rot however the difference in the degradation of wood seems to differ between species, and can’t seem to find anything specific to Q, cerris. Thanks in advance for any info, and will post some pics next week.

    Big Fungi

Ill see your 8years and raise it by another 3. This is fruiting from a Beech that was felled in 2000 and left as a high stump, five years ago i cut it to ground level and soiled over. Is it proven that there is only one sp of M. giganteus, or is there a similar more sapro type?
  10. Got mine yesterday in an excessively large box, not tested it yet but got some very soiled stuff to cut up soon, the gloves are nice. Cant complain for a freebie
  11. Very tidy carvings, really like the bear too . Did you just have a go or have you had some form of carving tuition?
  12. Nice workspace and timber:thumbup1:, the Fox certainly seems to like it.
  13. Great stuff, particularly like the oak leaf table
  14. Got told the same thing but i think it also depends on how many tetanus jabs you've had in the past, ive had three and was told that was enough to cover me.
  15. I've seen a few funny looking Ash recently, but round here most trees seem to be turning early especially, Lime, Beech, Syc, and some ash. Early Autumn i think, a least we had a good summer
