  1. I think top gear had run its course personally - the three of them had become caricatures of themselves and it was very same old same old predictable kids tv. It was a fantastic reinvention for the first few series but had run out of ideas over the last couple of years. I think Chris Evans is a very good bet - hopefully he will take it in a new direction (something that has been needed for a while). Clarkson still writes some very funny articles and would possibly make a pretty good politician (he would certainly provoke reaction...) but I doubt many will miss his two lap dogs going forwards.
  2. I wouldn't worry too much about the welds - our 1928s are built the same way, are often towed with a hopper full of road cones and we haven't had any issues really. One had a bit of welding at 1600hrs but I think that's pretty acceptable when you consider the hammer the hoppers get.
  3. Oh no!!! That's a disaster!
  4. The most sensible post ever! Any crane is better than handballing, and I think that trailer looks pretty good value at 7k personally. Good luck with the sale!
  5. If it is all the same girl (and I'm pretty sure it is) mesmerising is certainly one way of describing her Pete! There are small differences in some of the pics, but nothing that couldn't be accounted for with a bit of photoshop.
  6. Wonderful link! However, it's the 2015 calendar that is causing arguments here.
  7. I'm not sure if anyone can help - we are having a bit of an argument at work about the 2015 Stihl calender. Is it the same model throughout (I'm pretty sure it is) or not? Any help would be gratefully received!
  8. Hi - I'm looking for 70 linear meters of oak (or possibly chestnut) trunks to use as edging around a playground - it is to replace pine that has not lasted too well... It doesn't need to be particularly uniform, and can be any thickness above 12 inch. The job is in Cheshire. If anyone has anything that would do the job please reply on here, pm me or give me a shout on 07970188050. Cheers, Dan.
  9. It would have been about 3 years ago I think, so probably before the current system.
  10. I got a month ban a few years ago for swearing - I wrote a naughty word in a post and it magically disappeared instantly. I thought it was a very clever system (drunkenness precluded my realisation that human intervention was actually taking place) so I tried a couple of other rude words, with inevitable results. There was no mention of points etc - I assume that this is a relatively recent development?
  11. Rivet counter...
  12. It would be dead easy to cut a 1928 chute down to whatever height you wanted as they are straight, not curved.
  13. I'll give you a shout first if I end up selling it on. I'm already quite fond of it, even though it has caused me a headache! It's amazing where it will climb to be fair!
  14. 2 days before it broke... I think you had a lucky escape with this one! The guy who sold it to me was sound, I dont think he sold me a pup on purpose to be fair. It was on treebay and will probably be for sale again soon if I can get it out of this quarry!
  15. Cheers gents, many thanks!
  16. This is the broken stub axle - it is part of the planetary gear inside the hub pictured. If anyone knows of one anywhere I'd love to hear about it! (Not sure how to rotate this pic - the terrain isn't quite as steep as it looks here!)
  17. One of the back wheels fell off my Holder tractor on a job in a sand quarry. Unfortunately where it happened is very difficult to access - the Holder struggled to get there with 4 wheels, so will have to be repaired in situ to get it back out! Repair isn't a big job, but finding the parts is proving rather difficult!
  18. Hello boys and girls! I recently bought a Holder A60 for a spraying contract on embankments in a quarry. The tractor is cracking and has amazed me as to where it can get! However, one of the rear stub axles decided to shear off in a pretty inaccessible place and I need a part ASAP to recover the machine. If anyone has one (it is the stub axle attached to the planetary gear that effectively attaches the wheel to the machine) that they would be willing to sell, or otherwise loan/rent me the part to allow me to get the tractor back to base then that would be fantastic. I've tried lamberhurst 3 times and they are very friendly and helpful but they appear to snowed under and haven't come back to me yet with a price, never mind an idea of when I might get my hands on the bits.... I'm in a bit of a pickle as this is a new client and I don't really want to leave a broken machine on their site any longer than absolutely necessary! If anyone can help or point me in the right direction I would be grateful - my name is Dan and I'm on 07970 188050. Cheers!.
  19. Speak to Simon at Breakwell diesel testing near Dudley - I don't think you'll be into as much money as you've been quoted for a rebuild. They have a sister company that rebuilds Diesel engines and turn vans around superfast. Great people to deal with too.
  20. 2.3 or 3l?
  21. Don't blame you - I'd do the same!
  22. Happy days! Are they still made from extended 110 chassis then? I assumed the new ones were made as one piece from scratch. Did you have to buy the complete vehicle, or just the rolling chassis? Are you selling your old Salisbury axle by any chance?... A mate is looking for one at the moment.
  23. Where did you get that 3/4 chassis Dean?
  24. Grazon 90 used to be effective - not sure if it's still available though.
