I'm going to go out and find a wild animal that I can have as a pet. None of this silly "Secret Arbtalk code", if you see someone walking round with an owl on their shoulder or a badger on a lead, You know they're on Arbtalk.

You should take him home and train him. Get him to put your ropes up when he's older. Save you a fortune in throwlines and bags. Frank and his little Owl has a nice ring to it.

Me and my old man re-did our flat when we moved in. It was like something out of Life of Grime when we got the keys and had to gut the whole place and start again. We chucked all the building waste in the back garden and decided to do one big load at the end of the "job". We loaded up a little trailer (think B and Q one) and took it to the tip. Started to unload work tops and all sorts while some idle lazy git stands smoking roll-ups, without helping us. We then open the back of his estate car to take a bit more out and 3 of them run out and start saying that we're professionals and can't tip here. So I start on one and begin what can only be described as a one man triade against tip-workers while Mercerdes sprinters are unloading around us as I slowly get more and more wound up. This wrong'un who looks like a cross between an ugly woman and a rat, starts to tell me that we're a commercial outfit (In a Renault Laguna!!!) and "that isn't allowed" you're only allowed one small boot full a day. I reply "I'll load all this into my car and come back" to which he replys "Not today mate, you've reached your limit" I had to get in the car to avoid the little pillock. I hate Tip people.....

Depends on if you rely on them a lot mate. If they make you good coin and you have plans on having them in again, I'd overlook it and pay it myself. I'd make damn sure he knows he's paying for the next mistake though....

Handy for the newer cords that don't melt with a hot knife or a flame etc!! I've only tried to cut Bee-line once with a hot knife!! haha!!!

I use superglue to seal the ends of rope. Think I picked the tip up from someone on here. Might be because I don't smoke though!!! haha!!

Nice one mate. Consider it done!! The obvious knowledge and passion you have for fungi and the like are something that I definately want to learn more about and, for me personally, having guys like you and Mr Monkey-D on board here at Arbtalk, can only be a bonus.

The advantage of the Split tail is that you can vary the length of the hitch (ie, really short or really long depending on what you need) One other thing to mention, is that you need to use a stopper knot on the end if you use one as the system is "open" Good luck!!
