  1. Looks like its always had a fairly significant lean... Is the next video of him rebuilding a Bungalow???
  2. The first time I used a Lock jack with a Ropeguide, I gave it a good pull and nearly fouled myself!! Both great bits of gear but I'd choose the Ropeguide everytime!! Haha!!
  3. I know what you mean mate. Its a bit "all or nothing" isn't it!! haha!!
  4. The only thing that I've found with Ocean Polyester is that it takes a while for it to bed in. I've been playing with Samson Bailout after Old Snake recommended it and its pretty good stuff.
  5. I've got a lockjack and while it is good, I go for the VT more often than not! Its more rewarding to tweak the VT and get it "just so"!! What made you go back Dean?
  6. I'm sure I have a couple of mis haps on camera somewhere!!! Ha ha!! I'll have to see if I can dig em out!!
  7. Ha ha!! Great thread!! We've all done it!! ha ha!!
  8. Saw this at Capel. Incredably light and quiet. The only prob is the price £800 for battery pack and about £500 for the saw attachment if I remember correctly.
  9. That looks good Dean. Have you had anyone show you how to splice or is it all self taught from books and t'internet?
  10. Thoughts to his family and friends. Very sad indeed.
  11. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/climbers-talk/12110-would-you-3.html
  12. Yeah, It came in this year. Have to perform a pole rescue
  13. Saw this little fella on a day out in London a few weeks ago. On the bridge next to Houses of Parliment and The London Eye. Everyone was facing the other way taking pics of the "sights" and to the great delight (embarrasment) of Mrs Tommy B, I was facing the total opposite way taking a picture of this!!
  14. Happy Birthday Bob. Have a good one.
  15. I take it thats the one you spoke about when we talked at Capel? I was waiting for the pictures! haha!! Certainly was a big ol' girl!!! I should think the 020 stayed in the truck?!?! haha!!!
  16. Thats shocking mate. I can remember the Husky "style" hats and they would forever be slipping off and backwards without the ear defenders on. If I were you, I'd be paying the head of the college a visit myself....
  17. Save it and I'll bring some Beer vouchers with me at the weekend!! haha!! Have to see what its like with the Armor Prus!!! ha ha!!
  18. Why will they shout at you? If they're giving you the wrong equipment, it should be you shouting at them! IMO, If you feel strongly enough about the matter, Go and see whoever is in charge of the college or the Health and Safety manager and let them know how you feel (without losing it!!). I'd put good money on the fact that the college bosses probably don't even know the difference in husky ground helmets or 3 point chin straps. Best of luck mate, If you feel uncorfortable with something that you're being asked to do, Don't worry about getting shouted at, Just do what you're happy with. (There is plenty of time to get shouted at when you leave college and start work!!! haha!!)
  19. If thats the case Tom, Refuse to climb. You should only be using the proper kit.
