  1. But a normal cambium saver isn't availiable for the purpose! A rope guide is, but you're looking at mega bucks. If I'm right the OP needs to attach a line on a pollarded stem, Not over a normal branch like a normal cambium saver.
  2. Good idea. Cheaper than a Ropeguide for example, And pretty much the same thing. Get a little tenex loopie sling, Mallon and a Pinto pulley and I reckon you'd have a sweet little set up mate. Not designed for purpose but serves a purpose all the same.
  3. The meek shall inherit the earth, The brave get the forests!!!
  4. I haven't seen Drew for ages. He used to like a drink? Only used to appear after a few beers!!
  5. I once had a neighbour offer to give us a fair ammount of money if we could poison his neighbour's trees that we had spent all morning reducing and make it look like an accident, as it was cutting out the light in his garden. (and before anyone says anything, I turned it down!!)
  6. Is he the chap that works with Ben Doone and Phil McKrackin?
  7. You can't put a price on looking cool..... I always wanted to be in TopGun.
  8. Cool as!!!
  9. Well said. I view things in the same way as Tom and Dave. The issue that I had was sitting in a Religious Education lesson and listening to the teacher saying that if Hitler said sorry just before he died, he would be let into heaven. That never sat well with me. The other question that I have, If indeed God created everything, and the Ark really happened, Where did dinosaurs remains that are 100 million years old, come from??? Tom
  10. Nasty. Hope he heals well. Send best wishes to your mate
  11. I agree!! haha!! Cool video, but I had to mute it and put something else on!! haha!!
  12. Fair enough mate.
  13. Why? :confused1:Same difference. Both humans
  14. Just push it though. It'll cut!!!
  15. I'll start at £25 for the harness.
  16. Thats a good way to look at it Stevie, A couple of people on here have also said that they have to relate things to experiences that we have had. Its the main way that people learn. If you have two guys watching the same programme and ask them both to takes notes, neither of them will write the exact same thing as the experiences that they've had previously will make them think in different ways. Learning is the same. You find the appropriate things that trigger you, and make you remember, and you're laughing!!
  17. Brilliant!! I'll have a couple!!
  18. I don't know how much you know about how people learn mate but there are 3 catagories that you can fall into. Visual, Seeing something, Auditory, being told about something or "Doing" having a go yourself. If you can work out what your favourite way of learning is you can learn how best to pick things up. As you said, if you scan words and struggle to take them in, you are less likely to be a visual type person. eg, If I just gave you a set of instructions on how to build a tv cabinet, you might stuggle, but if you were allowed the tools and equipment to have a go yourself, you'd be able to do it no problem. Most dyslexic learners don't like to use the visual links and as a result are more often than not, more practical and like the "doing" part of things better. If you are unsure of which one of the three you are, you can often work it out from the subconcious language. Do you say "I see what you mean" (visual). "That sounds about right" (auditory) "That feels about right" (Doing) It can be quite interesting when you look into it. I'll go into the story part tomorrow if you are interested, but its late now and Mrs Tommy B wants me to go to bed!! Tommy
  19. I think that it can effect different people in different ways mate. Do you know anything about how people learn different things? Can be quite interesting when you can apply it. My Dad used to turn the TV on to read the newspaper. Some people need to have background noise to function, some people can only work in complete silence. If you find out how you learn best, you can remove the things that are stopping you and concentrate on what you want. Tom
  20. Came out alright mate. Nice one.
  21. Nice rigging pictures mate. But be careful of the swing Stevie.
  22. The thing with pricing is its a dependant on what kit you have and what you can tackle. I don't know what sort of level you are at with regard to taking climbing on, but if it was me in your situation, I'd pay whatever someone wanted to climb and help on the ground, just to get these out the way and soak up as much as you can. Ask questions and get involved. You have mentioned that you're a student in previous posts so don't beat yourself up over it, as others have mentioned, we've all done jobs where it's like we've quoted in the dark!! I'd pay what was needed to get them down. If you're starting out, It might be better to lose a bit more of the profit to save some face. Its only a mistake if you don't learn from it mate. Good luck
  23. I like that one!!
  24. My favourite was to write on my mates van "The only tool left in this vehicle is the driver" Simple things.....
  25. What does the Wildcard do?
