That's exactly the sort of thing Jim. Just got the bird on the end instead of the kite. I just need to think of a way to attach it to the tree!

I have been asked have a look at doing a bit of strange work in some big(ish) Cedars in a Church yard that have a problem with bird poop. At the moment they have a number of plastic owls that are tied to the branches to scare the pigeons. They've got the owls on low branches and say that the birds are not scared of them as they can land on branches above the owls and plop all over everything. Therefore, they have got hold of some of the birdscarers that look like hawks attached to fishing rods that make the decoys look like they are flying. (I know that is a poor description, but I've spent ages looking on Google and can't find a decent enough description) If anyone in the know about this sort of thing has a link, please stick one up. My question is, What is going to be the best (ideally non-invasive) way of attaching these to the trees so I can have the birds poking out above the top canopy? I was hoping that the great and the good of Arbtalk can come up with an idea. If anyone has done this before, please let me know how you got on. Cheers Tommy
