  1. no mate, well sort of, most stuff gets stacked within 40ft of lorry access and a big lorry with 40ft reach hiab and grab, and roll on roll of skip bin comes along, grabs everything up, including sawdust and takes it away to be processed for biomass chipping to power the city (pics of the HUGE chipper in action are a few pages back) OR the branches which would normally be chipped in the uk, just get stacked in a pile, and the logs cut to 40cm lengths, and left under the tree for the customer sort out . . . even at some million £ houses we leave stuff for them to deal with! OR if its a real big job, where theres going to be say 5 or more lorry loads of brash and transport costs start getting too much, we hire a chipper, chip in a big pile on the ground, then along comes the grab lorry to pick the chips up:thumbup: grab lorry will take ANY size wood too! the boss has been picking my brains about tracked chippers and importing them from the uk, as chippers are really rare and REALLY expensive over here chip???? oh i vaguely remember that, made by those noisey dusty things:001_tongue: be even nicer if it was a puma 130 crew cab . . . edit: Mozz has been paying attention!!!
  2. cheers matt i think its almost perfect for our work, our boss has done well with the design of the back, interior lights, sliding saw tray, plenty of space for kit, saws, 2 inch heavy duty lift on the rear, eats up road miles, and alright offroad for a soft roader, its no landy but doesnt pretend it is
  3. before, during and after of lime thin and natural lift this morning, and pic of the box on the back of the work truck:001_smile:
  4. sweet as nintey mate! i actually quite liked the N/A engines for offroading, just ploding around. i had a 71 2a when i was 17, even though it was a classic vehicle, classis vehicle status diddnt apply because i was under 25! but i did manage to lower the insurance by doing no more than 499miles a year:001_smile: . . .ever noticed how cheap 2nd hand speedos are on ebay, and how easy they are to change between original and 'new' between mot's??
  5. Even better!!!!! the atmosphere would be immense:thumbup:
  6. sounds sweet as mate, im gonna do the same, im sure swedens got some wilderness somewhere:001_smile: a weekend of peace and quiet, chilaxing cool! sleeping in a tree in the rain under cover sounds idylic
  7. awesome tom, definatly get one of them only £50 too . . . but only rated to 150kg one built for 2 would be nicer mozza id light the fire away from the tree boat . . .in a nice big branch fork...some people, no sence:lol:
  8. what was the price at the show in the end? does it come with specifically designed krabs like the HC has the DMM ovals? and did the new device get shown?? thanks
  9. tree boats look ace! have you/can you spend the night in one?? my house mate and i went for a reccy climb on sunday too, my minds going overload now . . .a tree boat, few beers, freshly caught fish on the open fire would be an ace weekender over here!
  10. fantastic work tom and dean, and fantastic story too dean
  11. sweeeeeeet next time youre missus buys an expensive pair of shoes, dont argue, just send youre saw off haha!!!! sod it, ill give him a pm
  12. ive thought about getting in contact with him too! if he's up for it i have an 046 back home in need of a rebuild, thinking hand it/send it to him when im back for justins, then collect it at the apf what did he say about doing youre husky? oh oh and just an exhaust for my 880. . . and 660 . . . and . .
  13. from masterblasters website, this is one cool as thread! standard ms460 vs standard ms880, then they get modified:biggrin: good pics and awesome videos, especially when you see the diffrence modding a saw can make. 460 vs 880 cage match - The #1 HARDCORE arborist forum, bar, and grill - Enjoy the buffet and libations! hope you dont mind MB!
  14. a man of many tallents:biggrin: haha yeah, youre myu inspiration mark:thumbup: got a vid from last year of felling 3 50ft pines into each other, but cant upload it:thumbdown: unfortunatly thinking outside of the box got us in a bit of bother today, nocking out a days work, 3 jobs by 10am . . . unbeknown to us, the clients were paying by the hour!
  15. messing about with felling this small oak, twin stem, one stem weighted too much to pull over against lean by hand (bank+house below) so stropped the 2 together, with slack, felled the stem weighted in the right direction, then back felled the other stem, weight of the 1st stem pulling the 2nd over:001_smile: now i want to find a twin stemmed hundred footer:001_tongue: then a video of felling a small rowan into another . . .no reason, just for fun Josh Gerald Philpotts | Facebook
  16. sounded like a sensible question to me too. . . if a quote took half a day, youd add ÿoure time onto the job, so why not add a few quid to cover time and expense at the end of a job? with the option of a bank transfer, id tell the customer - with a bank transfer, monies recieved within 5 working days it will be £50 (eg) if i have to come and collect in 2 weeks time, i will need to factor in the extra time i spend collecting money, when i could be earning, so it will be £60. they have the choice then, buisness is not a charity and time is money p.s just ignore woodpicker, most of us do anyway
  17. need a new harness, so decided to try a tree motion out, went for a play today with the bosses one
  18. Im sold! just been out to try one, as comfy as the tree magic, so why not even tried footlocking, but it just wasnt gonna happen for fat boy
  19. i had the original one complete with bridge problems, still got it back in the uk, that was ok actually, but ordering a harness tommorrow! just seen this on the tree motion:scared1: dont think even peter has this much junk:lol: just gonna have lunch, then off for a climb, hows best to wear the tm? i like to wear harnesses below the top of my hips, not on my lower back
  20. cool, well wills tm is in the van, so i might go have a play in the oaks outside in a bit, mess up his adjustments for him i did wonder if you used the metal ring on the caritool, our boss uses the caritool to hold the handle of a topper, but then he is 3ft nothing!
  21. interesting, never used the caritools before, just a tool strop with metal ring, whats the caritools like for holding felling saws-660/880? looks like a saw would be bashing youre arse on caritools??? do you need a longer tool strop to account for the attatchment point being further away if stretching foward?
