  1. hi mate! good to hear your up in the trees tip, use a cambium saver, or better by far, a rope guide, i use a rope guide on EVERYTHING!!! have never washed a rope yet, only sticky caribinas
  2. if you can easily do anything to any tree in any location at a commercial pace youll get work easily. most places offer a trial week at basic low pay, so nothing to loose! tickets, just the basic 4 really ive got a thread in the picture forum of typical work, search 'Josh's sweden thread' good luck
  3. min svenska är inte så bra, kan vi prata engelska? ja? bra! no, it doesnt look like youres mark, theres no rips and the roof is intact if i were to have quoted, i'd have tried to go for the fell, and carve a bench out of the stem or something, but im sure the boss explored every avenue. . . i sure am making a mark on the swedish countryside:lol:
  4. ive a set of alloy bashlins with velcro pads and theyre GREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT tried the carbon fiber ones and wasnt impressed, just diddnt fit me properly, and weight diffrence was tiny
  5. too right! if the woods gonna end up on the deck, it can be spiked. . . the trees butchered anyway mate:lol: i know, just jesting, thanks for asking thought provoking questions its a swedish oak . . . sorry
  6. you always ask "client happy with final spec" on my topping jobs! tree was a fine specimen, totally healthy, a really nice tree, nowt wrong with it the client wanted it felled as it was too close to the house, too big ect, she had had a reduction away from the roof, and crown clean back in 97, and decided she diddnt want to keep paying for a trim. felling was only ruled out because of the cost of transport of removing the timber and brash (around £700 for transport, then additional cost of hireing a machine to get timber/brash close enough to where a lorry could grab it) so spec was to reduce as hard as poss/pollard 3m from main fork, to an inner crown if possible, so i just butchered it down to where i thought best higher than the 3m suggested, but 80% of stubs has decent growth comming off, the remaining stubs are knuckles. hopefully it will take, but i suspect chancer are that it will go crazy next year, then die and the client was really happy

  14. panic braking causes accidents??? A) shouldnt be speeding B)if you wernt speeding you should be aware of what speed youre doing, and have been aware of the 2 reminder signs, big bright yellow box, and lines on the road conclusion??? you were breaking the law by either speeding, or driving without due care and attention theyre not a stealth tax, theyre a big bright yellow box taking the role of a police officer if you dont want a fine/points/ban, either dont break the law or dont get caught simples
