  4. can any under 25's who have really good insurance providers tell me who they are with?? e.g the ones that are cheaper by far came home today to find that despite now 4 years no claims, my landrovers jumped by up by £140, and my mercs nearly doubled, jumping up by £300:thumbdown: p.s, dont say Direct line!!! thanks
  5. fantastic quality pics, i want a go!
  6. no, the not gripping thing, is all to do with they way you tie the vt, if like myself you like it to 'self tend' where as you pull up on the rope above the hitch, the slack falls through the hitch under the ropes tails own weight, the vt is tied as (eg) mys pic shows, tieing it this way, you cant just let go and be sure it will 'catch' you, you need to etither hold the hitch and rope as you lower youre weight on to the syster, or stretch the system up to grip. you can however tie it similar to a distel, where self tending doesnt really happen, but it will always grab (if i were to wrap one of the legs over the other leg on my system, it would alyays catch, but wouldnt self tend)
  7. it does howevr, become second nature to just give it a quick grab with youre hand, you dont need to even look:001_smile:
  8. look foward to meeting you then!
  9. nice tom how long a walk to the beach?
  10. yep, ART ropeguide get youreself down to the F R Jones show this friday and/or saturday in kent, come and have a play on the modern systems and see how you get on with them
  11. hitch climbers a great step foward although can take some getting used to, around a week id guess. benifits are more ergonimical climbing, smoother decents, faster climbing too have you got a ropeguide? its a cambium saver, which has a pulley for the rope to go over, eliminating almost all friction, well worth trying
  12. nice landy! oh, and nice jobs too:blushing:
  13. search member Rob D, he deals in alaskan chainsaw mills, reall easy and simple to use, he also sells ripping chains, specifically designed for cutting across the grain http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/alaskan-mill/ and http://www.alaskanmill.co.uk
  14. Whens the new series of rogue traders out?
  15. its cheaper than the rope guide for a reason! rope guide is worth every sinle penny, simple to install, retreive, spend a little more and get the best edit, ditto john, diffrence infriction is huge
  16. yep, and at that price, someone got a cracking deal! driven mikes one-crewcab+hiab, awesome truck, heaps of power
  17. and a maximum of a legal 1.4 tonne payload . . .so it tows more, carrys more . . . although im biased as im selling a 130 tipper:sneaky2: cheers mozz btw:thumbup: ive used transits, smiley faced and meliminum edition ones, i wouldnt touch the latter, but i would consider the older smiley faced ones. ive also used ldv's, the ldv has the same turning circle as the 130, but is much wider, my landys tip bed is a cut down transit one, about a foot narrower and shorter if you want to drive on customers lawns or even level playing fields after a nights rain, landy is the only option, and just think, if youve already got a landy how cool it would look to have 2 ´with identical sign writing sitting side by side at the yard, on jobs ect . . .
  18. idylic, great pics

  22. haha, i was just gonna put a link up for that! rang them up just after christmas, a scottish l/a had it on trial and brought it for i think 24k, ex demo, new was i think 28k been looking at importing a bandit here in sweden, but unfortunatly bandit america no longer export direct, only to a dealer, who subsequently sticks their cut on:thumbdown: edit, global recyclings bandit was vari tracked, because GR import in road tow machines, then add the tracked under carriage themselves, this is what the rep told me
  23. nicely felled stevie staying where it lays?
