  1. On the first vid, they would need a crane to lift the bit that broke off..... That would have to be 300-400kg at least. Amazing how it bouned like it weighted nothing at all

:151: Congrats. Welcome to the next few weeks of no sleep
  6. deg C, crikey we will be seeing it on the news how the UK has shut down and images of people dancing in the fountains etc etc Enjoy the weather, we just had a -2 deg frost :scared1:last night. Come back Summer.
  7. True that. It's coming in the weekend I hear. To keep on thread you should get some out old top gear shows and watch them. Try and figure out who the stig really is.
  8. What are you doing on Arbtalk atree, lovely day outside, suns out, 8Deg C...... I though you would be up a tree somewhere?
  9. I have the video filmed on the moon of course. [ame= ] [/ame]
  10. Like the Stihl adds on the tele.....
  11. The stig is too short for the Shoe, he is more likely a touring Car driver. F1 guys are great in F1 cars but average in anything else, check outhe power lap time from a couple of seasons ago, they had a F1 driver on the show and he was just OK, not super human. IMO of course.. The Stig is a "KIWI"
  12. Looks like the access to the job took a bit of work there mate., Thats not an arb rope you using is it??:scared1:
  13. :scared1:By the looks of the size of hole you left in the side you almost lost half the meat
  14. Only 5 months on the armour prus drew, give it a wash and you should be right for another 5.....:001_smile: Good looking splice there mate. Re sales to the UK, we are working with a French testing lab as we speak to get CE, its just a ceertificate as we meet all the standard for PPE but it is a process that takes time I'm sorry. In the mean time I'm sure Drew can sort something out for you guys should you want to get in early.
  15. Cameras can be useful, they are not all about collecting money. Im the one on the right.
  16. Thats what I was thinking, Get some Fluro Spray paint and paint the area around the Cameras to make them nice and visible.
  17. There are three main ways of testing a rope for strength. 1. Using lead grips on a specialized rope testing machine. These hold the rope without crushing to achieve a tensile break. The rope is wrapped around a bollard which spreads the load normally resulting in a clean break 2. Fiber testing. This is where a bunch of fibers are tested and the results used to calculate the tensile strength (This is used for very large Diameter ropes) 3. Termination break, this gives you the actual break of a rope in practice. Spliced eyes are placed in the sample then tested. This normally results is a break either in the eye or just behind the splice. Most manufacturers will quote a testing standard on there reports which outlines which method they have used.
  18. I just checked this out and WesSpur claim it is not splicable? Any comments on this. 12 Strand ropes can be spliced and in my experience with wire replacement ropes made from Dyneema/spectra splicing can achieve 100% of the original break load
  19. Drew, Have a look on our web site. We have pulled together a lot of splicng vids from all over and linked them to our splicing section. The double braid splice is what has been discribed in the NE link. Cheers
  20. Do we still get to see the pic anyway????
  21. Our thoughts are with you our northern friends........... Breaking news in our local paper this morning was that the Kiwi owned Lion Nathan breweries is pulling XXXX beer from the UK and replacing with Stieny Pure. I must say you lads are in for a treat as Pure is not a bad drop if you like largers. I have no idea what they will do with our old dishwater "XXXX" now though?
  22. Nice piece of kit, by the way did anyone pick up on the other vid this guy had on his list. "Bennis little chainsaw mistake"? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ian-GvsKksQ[/ame] Sorry for getting off topic Tim but thought this was a little scary.......... so easy to do if you are not careful. Lucky he has still got his knee!
  23. Found this one for a laugh. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JARkLg_lHFo]YouTube - Aussies vs New Zealand (funny)[/ame]
