  1. don't panick skyhuck, i dont work for free!!!!!!!!!!!!! sometimes at a loss, but not for free i didn't cut down the tree. i just "recycle" the wood, which was delivered to me. deliver the wood on monday, so get paid then, and only cut it up so the buyer can split himself so was a quick job to reduce down into manageable pieces
  2. nope. did it for the pure pleasure of backache, cramp, gettin soaked and cleaning up shed loads of sawdust:thumbup:
  3. cut this up for firewood today, it had ganoderma at base. twas a lovely copper beach growing opposite charlotte church's old house
  4. congrats mate, we knew we were having a boy and the wife wanted to call him charlie only problem is my surname is white..........she didn't get it
  5. i agree. less wood= easier to tie nets=quicker to fill bags=more profit, less time
  6. imo nightmare. let the trunk dry out abit b4 you mill. contains so much water the planks are liable to collapse........good luck
  7. we all have our own preferences for machinery, and they all have their own faults or un-favourable operating procedures, i've used many chippers from exenco, entec, bandit, premier, timberwolf, jenson, vermieer, heizohack and the spiral one. they are all different and the best one is the one which has the least amount of personaly anoying faults that you can put up with. its all horses for courses, and its the same with all machinery including firewood machinery, chainsaws and trucks. personly i buy on aftersales service and back up as a prority after i've found the machine i like best suited to my needs and easily maintained. IMO nobody makes the best... its the most suitable for you. i own a heizohack btw
  8. DONT BUY A KODAK. nothing but problems with it, had it over a year. bought a hp all in one FP4280 for under £30 and its fantastic. good quality photo prints too and it came with full ink tanks not the usual taster inks which last 10 seconds
  9. hey peter, nice truck. how do you find running it? how do you get on with the O-license thing?

  10. yep that piston is strong!!!!!!!!!!!!!! done right it is a 10 min job just the way chris did it
  11. she could be a registered childminder like my wife, she gets paid to say at home and look after y kids whil looking after others, earns around £8-900pm, would be more if my kids were'nt taking up 2 places averaging £250-350 per child per month
  12. logs can be hard work and space to keep the dry is a neccessity, but idiot proof it is not. as you say tractors break down and the machines are'nt the strongest built things and then you find out the staff has not set the right length on the machine and it all has to be cut again, it also gets quite tedious after a while and motivation drops
  13. got a wife and 2 boys........9 and 2 otherwise known as money magnets do have a 2 man sit-on-top canoe for rivers and surf, for me and my eldest son. good fun, but usually involves camping too
  14. i need to produce a H&S policy to get on the council procurement scheme. can any of you provide any help/links that can be used for the production of firewood and biomass woodfuels at base or out on site. also is there a generic H&S form that could be adapted to my needs. any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated:001_smile:

  20. is that llangennith on the gower or rhossili?
  21. why not put splitter next to log pile and throw them? i feel it may be a waste of money to buy a conveyor to only move the wood 3-5 meters
  22. how do you split your logs at the mo?
  23. why is it when you are really busy in work, all the machinery will break down but when its quiet and no rush on, everything works fine why do all government organisations find the most difficult and complicated ways to do the simplest of things?????????
